After Black Friday - Early Christmas Sale!!! + New Happy Quilting Patterns!!!

 It's an After Black Friday . . . Early Christmas . . . Shop Sale!!!!  (that is a bit of a mouthful :)    I don't know if you recall, but I missed the Black Friday sale this year as I was out of town.   But I promised a sale would be coming and this is it!!!  

So right now, all of the patterns in my Etsy Shop are marked down to $5.50 for PDF Patterns and $7.00 for PAPER Patterns !!!   Time to stock up and get Happy Quilting!!!

And this is a Shop Sale . . . so that also means my Charming Baby Quilts book, my Fast & Fun Lap Quilts Book in Paper and PDF, and my Modified Drunkards Path Templates are all on sale as well!!!!

Cherry Tree Lane Quilt and Free PDF Pattern!!!

Hello Quilting Friends!  Today, I am thrilled to be sharing this brand new Cherry Tree Lane quilt as well as a Free PDF Pattern for it!!! This quilt features  Blossom Lane fabrics by Katherine Lenius. I just love all of the beautiful prints in this line!!  It is filled with gorgeous florals, happy doors, fun envelopes, and antique keys.  And the colors just bring a smile to my face, (especially the purples!!!)  And since this quilt is all about Lanes, I came up with this on point design, that has the look of a street grid.  

Cherry Tree Lane is made with a 10″ Stacker of  Blossom Lane.   And yes, Cherry Tree Lane is from Mary Poppins ;)   As soon as I saw these prints, they just reminded me of the whimsey and magic of that childhood favorite.   Especially all of the doors, don't they just look like they belong on the row houses of Cherry Tree Lane!!!   I used the Windows and Knockers prints in cream to frame all of the blocks, and the Keys print for the border.  I just love how the black just sets off al off those gorgeous colors!!! 

The Cherry Tree Lane quilt is a very easy one to make, and great if you want to learn how to sew quilts on point. It is simply just bordering your print squares from your Layer Cake/10" Stacker.  Then you just cross cut a few for setting blocks, and then piecing it all together.  The simple patchwork makes it a super great quilt to whip up for a wedding or similar special occasion.  

The Cherry Tree Lane quilt is a Large Lap/Twin Size and finishes at 76″ x 93″. And as I mentioned, there is a free PDF Download of this pattern, so you can make your own!!! To get the FREE PDF Cherry Tree Lane Download, just click here and download it :)

When it came time to quilt mine I knew I wanted to keep with the "lane idea" and what grows better on British Lanes then Ivy??  So I did my Loose Feathers free motion design that totally looks like ivy climbing the walls. I love all of the movement it gives, and it is a super fast design to do a well, double bonus!!! It will be just perfect to snuggle up in.

Sundown in the Garden Quilt!!

 I was so excited when my good friends at Riley Blake Designs asked if I wanted to make this new Sundown in the Garden Quilt Kit!!!  I mean, how can you not get excited about all of that patchwork goodness in such happy prints!!  This quilt is designed by Riley Blake Designs for the new fabric line Sweetbriar designed by Rachel Erickson and I just love it!!! 

This really was such a fun quilt to make!!!  Just Half Square Triangles and simple patchwork and this goes together in no time.   It is a great lap size to whip up, and finishes at 61" x 73" so you can snuggle up in it as well!! Isn't it just so fun to see classic blocks redone in cute sashed settings and happy prints and colors!!!  

The design is Fat Quarter friendly, so you can grab a Bundle, and a bit of yardage for sashing, cornerstones, and a border.   I love getting to show off favorite fabrics in the borders, it is just so fun :)  Especially when the patchwork is small and doesn't show the larger scale prints as much ;)  And speaking of small patchwork, my 2 1/2" BlocLoc ruler was so helpful for this project!!! 

And when it came time to quilt it, I decided to do some fun custom quilting.  I can't help but do arches when I have such perfectly pieced squares in a grid.   And then some ribbon candy in the sashing and swirls in the border to add lots of texture.   And I love that I can always count on So Fine 402 Pearl to blend perfectly in all of these light and dark colors, my go to for the win every time!! 

And this quilt is now ready to be gifted for one of those special occasions!!
