So . . .  Without further ado . . . . The 5 lucky winners of the Aurifil Trial packs are

JEN

MARY COUCH

VICKI T

LORRI

SNOODLES

So if one of these 5 people happens to be you please send me an email (happyquiltingmelissa (at) gmail (dot) com ) with your mailing address and I will get your trial package of Aurifil thread sent out asap :)  Congrats!!!

And just out of curiosity . . .I am wondering what you thought of this giveaway approach.  Did you like having several options for one try??  Does that make it easier for those that are not involved in every social media??  Would you like to see giveaways continue like that in the future??  Just let me know what you think, I would really appreciate your feedback as you know, we will be doing more giveaways and I want to make them accessible to all :)

  1. Shoot! So close!
I think the way you gave so many options makes it very fair for anyone to enter!

  4. Congratulations to the winners! I love having at least a couple of options, especially since I'm not on Facebook and can't enter giveaways that make you "Like" someone's page to enter. :)

  5. Congratulations to the winners! I prefer one entry rather than jumping through hoops. I don't like to have to LIKE someone on FB!

  7. Ooh I just spotted my name up there. How awesome. Thank you so much.

I personally like the giveaways being done on blogs, not FB. I know Facebook is THE thing everyone seems to be using now for so many things but, I had resisted for a very long time to 'liking' any other than my friends and family. Then I gave in because so many bloggers and large companies like Kraft etc. required you to 'like' them in order to get something or an entry to a giveaway. The downfall to that is now I have SOOOOOoooo many things on my FB list that I can't find my friends and family anymore without really going through a page or two to find them. I know it's great to use for quick posts and such for a business to use to get feedback but between the blogs, my emails for quilting, sewing, machine embroidery, yahoo groups, and then the other things I signed up to get newsletters from, it seems I am spending almost my entire day doing all that and not doing any sewing. Geez, I don't know what I'd do if I had a job. LOL

And I still contintue to resist twitter and any others like pinterest etc. I have to draw a line somewhere before my computer explodes from overuse. haha

  8. Congrats to the winners! I like blog giveaways that require just one entry...folks on Facebook, twitter, and the like can get tons more entries than those folks who aren't a part of all the social media ways. If everyone had just one entry by posting a comment, that's the fairest way of all. Thanks for asking. :)

  9. Congrats to the winners. I don't much care for multiple entries; but, I will do them if I really want a chance to win the prize. I often feel sorry for those who can't (or won't) do the extra entries though because it makes the chances of winning unfair (unequal) for them. Thanks for hosting this giveaway. :-)

  11. I liked it. I don't do Sh*tter or Fakebook so I really liked still being able to get all 3 entries, even if I didn't win.

  12. I thought it was a great giveaway and a great way to do a giveaway (even if I didn't win)! Congrats to the winners!

  13. Yes, I like the method you used to have a giveaway, except the part where I didn't win :-( I don't Facebook (!!!!!) or Tweet (!!!!!!!) so just having a comment on your blog is great for me :-) Thanks!

  14. Personally I'd rather if everyone just got one entry. Having said that, the various blogs I've joined to win a prize have, in most cases, been fun.

  16. I prefer one uncomplicated entry as a comment on your blog without all of the other stuff. I love your blog and would rather read it than "jump thru hoops" for the giveaway.

    have a wonderful day.

  18. Congratulations to the winners. Personally, I prefer 1 entry vs. multiples. I don't particularly enjoy "liking" someone on Facebook in order to enter a giveaway.

  19. I'm bouncing in my chair!! Oops, I had better quit that, it might give way with me! LOL I'm excited to see my name in the same post with Aurifil!! Yay! Can't wait to try!
OK. I'm calmer now. I really like having a couple of ways to enter...if it is something like this, that I REALLY want, I will do all of them that I can. If not, I just stop in and say hi. I'm just increasing my chances to win! I think the blog is the best for giveaways; FB and Twitter, not so much. But I thank you so much for my prize!

  21. Congrats to the winners!

I'm with VickiT in that after the original contest with liking on FB it can be a pain in the bum. If it's someone I really like reading I have no problem liking them on FB but some of the bigger companies post multiply times a day & I don't want to be bothered with it. I'm staying away from twitter too. Although that could be because I just don't get it. Lol

So, if it's just posting one comment to get entered into the giveaway it makes it so much easier than having to do multiply entries. Sometimes that's why I put it off to the last minute or completely missed out.

Sorry for the long post! :)
