Playing with Pinking

I got a fun new little blade for my rotary cutter this weekend . . .

And it makes the prettiest pile of trimmings :)

I was a little worried about cutting with this as the blade isn't always directly right against the ruler but for the most part, it has gone really smooth.  I swerved a little once but mostly because I was getting comfortable with it and not paying to much attention.  There will be more to come on this lovely pile of goodies as  I keep trimming away!!

  1. What a great idea! I hadn't thought of using a rotary "pinker", just my regular pinking shears. These would be much easier.

  2. I've been tempted by one of these guys as I think you could get some cool effects, but haven't succumbed yet, you'll have to entice me :oD

  3. So funny Melissa, because I just took pictures over the weekend of my pinking trimmings too. Don't have a rotary blade though. Hope to post something soon but too busy with Christmas. Have a Merry one.

  4. I have been wanting that blade too! But I don't think Olfa makes one big enough for my rotary cutter. I will have to buy the smaller cutter in order to use that particular blade.

  5. Too funny...I went out Friday and bought a pinking shears...I'd never owned one. Did we all see that same quilt-as-you-go Christmas tree ornament tutorial last week and get inspired? ;)
