And then I decided I wanted to keep the chain going. So Option B is a Black sashing with some White squares added in to finish the "chain" look.
And then I really got into the whole chain idea, and added in a lot more piecing. So Option D is a larger Black sashing with some White and Black Nine Patches added in to totally finish the "chain" look.
And the of course, there is always that point where you circle back around and wonder if you should just keep it simple. So Option E is just taking it back to a plain White Sashing.
So what do you think??? Which finishing style do you like best???
So ya, know you have two opinions to weigh in on ;)
Oh, and one last thing. Speaking of Patterns . . . I am celebrating turning 40 with a 40% off Pattern Sale!!! The sale will go until Friday and I have also added Printed HARD COPY PATTERNS in my shop. So if you see a quilt you want to make but can't be in class because you are far away, now is the time to pick up the pattern for it ;)
Thanks for your help today and I hope you all are having a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!!
Oh, so many choices! My favorites are B and D.
ReplyDeleteI love option C for the quilt! I think the last option is too much black and overpowers the stars. But the single row of black allows the colors to pop!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE a pattern and would totally buy it as soon as it was released!
I'm curious, when do you plan on doing your quilt-a-long? I want to make sure I leave time in my schedule to participate :)
DeleteIt's Coming Soon!!!! I am just finishing the design and working on getting all of the sponsorship set-up. It will probably go Sept-Nov ;) And we are doing a Medallion Quilt!!!
DeleteI like B because it seems the white pieces just pop a lot more.
ReplyDeleteOption B.
ReplyDeleteOption B, although I like D, too.
ReplyDeleteI like option B the most
ReplyDeleteI vote for D.
ReplyDeleteI like D the best. It brings out the white in the lighter blocks and creates more definition.

I like D.
ReplyDeletelove each one but I favor D.
ReplyDeleteI like D best
ReplyDeleteI love D!
ReplyDeleteI can see how you have a difficult decision to make. I like option B because it is more simple. I really like option D also, but I think it's a bit busy with all the white in the outer borders. Maybe eliminate the 9-patches in the outer borders? Good luck with your decision!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is C--the white cornerstones make it sparkle!
ReplyDeleteI like C and E. Both are nice with the white touches.
ReplyDeletethis is going to be a beautiful quilt! It is so cool that you have this program to make previews.
That was really fun to think about....thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteInterestingly I like option B the best since I find the cornerstones of C to be visually distracting.
I thought I would really like D as I was thinking "what if you added another sashing with a 9 patch connection", but was surprised to find that I didn't like it as much as B.
But all of the ideas are fabulous, including the simple white sashing, so you can't go wrong!
I just love option D, it was a no-brainer. It just jumped off the page at me.
ReplyDeleteI think I like d best, except maybe that outside round would be a... six patch instead of the full 9. Hm. I like B a lot as well.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Option D ... It's a winner. I would love that pattern any which way it comes. Great pattern. Great Options!! You win!! I win if I can get the pattern. Thank you so much for sharing some super ideas!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love B and D!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is D and then C and then B. The black really makes the color pop.
ReplyDeleteD is the one for me. You are so talented, Melissa.
ReplyDeleteI like D best.
ReplyDeleteI like Option B. I also like D, but for all the extra work, I don't like it extra better -- lol. Anyway you finish it will be wonderful. Can't wait to see the reveal. And Happy 40th!
ReplyDeleteI like D and B. The others are fine but nothing special...a little boring.
ReplyDeleteB is really great
ReplyDeleteI like D the best I think. I would love to do the class with all of that involved.
ReplyDeleteB is my favorite and D is my second choice. Both of them are quite beautiful. Happy 40th birthday.
ReplyDeleteI like "D". A bit more work but worth it!!! Thank you for showing what a color change will create.
ReplyDeleteI like D the best
ReplyDeleteD all the way
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is option D, love the chain, but the black cross is really bold between the blocks. I'd be interested to see what happens if you do something with the sashing like using a black-white-black strip between the 9 patches to break up that big black cross so the focus is on the stars. Makes me wish for EQ so I could play with your pattern, too.
ReplyDeleteoption B: I love the chain it creates, but it isn't too busy. Hugs, H
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great layouts for that lovely quilt. B is my favorite. Let us know if you offer the pattern and quilt along!!
ReplyDeleteI like C that balances the blocks but is enhanced by cornerstones as well as other bits of white.
ReplyDeleteI love D looks like shining stars
ReplyDeleteI love D.
ReplyDeleteI love option B with the continuous chain. So clever!
ReplyDeleteI think option B is best :)
ReplyDeleteHi,Melissa, Happy 40th! I really like option D but think it would be great on point for an even more stunning look. However, you choose to do your pattern would be great! Thank you for sharing your pattern and birthday with us!!
ReplyDeleteI like option B as well. The colors and the whites just seem to stand out better.
ReplyDeleteD. It's the best.
ReplyDeleteI like B and C and would love to have the pattern with different sizes and layout options. I would buy the pattern
ReplyDeleteOption E. Because I’m not crazy about black.
ReplyDeleteI like C. It reminds me of a clear, dark, stary night. It almost sparkles.
ReplyDeleteD
ReplyDeleteI like option B the best!
ReplyDeleteThe white sashing just doesn't let the colors pop. I like B, C, or D.
ReplyDeleteI would switch the star blocks around.
ReplyDeleteIn the first row, I would switch the red and the green. Put the yellow where the orange is.
Switch the purple and the dark yellow.
I like the light sashing:)
I vote for option B. I like chains and stars. For me A and E are kind of standard, C is too busy taking attention away from chain, and in D the black crosses take attention away from chain.
ReplyDeleteOption B is my favorite.
