Some Scrappy Goodness!!!

So I didn't get a whole lot of sewing done over the Holiday.  Ya know, it's all about family while the kids are out of school.   But now they are back, and I have been sewing up a scrappy storm :) Remember that stack of Rainbow Petals I shared before Christmas . . .

And how I was going to start sewing them all in 2022 . . .   Well, 6 day's in and I have a stack of Scrappy Prairie Star Blocks and I just love them!!!   The notches that are cut with the AccuQuilt GO! Prairie Star BOB Die  really made lining up everything super easy so the piecing went really fast.   And see those white background pieces, they are totally put in with Y seams!!!  I was a little nervous at first, but after a few it was like, ya, what was I so nervous about ;)  And they look so awesome and I love that this traditional block is put together in the traditional way!!!     I can't wait to share it all finished :)

And I will admit, I was so excited about cutting out all of those rainbow petals and seeing them in pretty stacks . . . that over the break, I decided to try another "to make someday" quilt  :)   My blue scraps were out of control, like totally spilling out of the bucket!  So I sorted through and paired them with some great brown scraps because I love that color combo for an "all boy" feel.    Can you tell what Classic Quilt Block I made from this little sneak peek??  Click here for a big hint, tee hee hee.

And no surprise, I had so much fun cutting out the first set of blocks, before I even started piecing them (because remember, I was going to wait until 2022 to sew them)  I decided on a second combo.   I mean, if I was going to make an "all boy" quilt I might as well make an "all girl" quilt as well.   So pink and black scrap buckets are now a little lower as well ;)    And I admit, I might have started sewing on these blocks a little before 2022.  I couldn't help but squeak some sewing machine time now and them, but most of it was while the kids were enjoying their time to sleep in :)

I don't know what it is about scrappy quilting goodness, but it sure makes me happy!!!  It is just so fun to see so many bits and pieces from so many quilts come together into a beautiful block!!  Now to transform them into some beautiful quilts.  More to come soon ;)

I hope you are all having a very Happy (and maybe Scrappy) Quilting Day!!!
