And then remember the fun Reef Fat Eighth Bundle and Pattern that I got in my Sew Sampler, well it's all cut out and ready to start the Chuckles quilt for my SIL. I can't wait to get to the piecing on this one!!! Those little fish are going to be so much fun to sew up!!! And ya, I totally need another set of Alphabitties, those little post-it's just keep flying away :)
And last but not least, since I am just adding the binding on to my previous Red, White, and Black quilt (I will share the finish on Friday) it is time to start another one right!!!! I am working on a fun Fat Quarter Shop Shortcut Quilt Along and this time I am using the super fun Modern Backgrounds Luster by Zen Chic and some Solid Red for the background. I just love the metallic additions in this awesome line, they are just so much fun!!!
And since there really wasn't a whole lot of cutting for this particular quilt, and I was ready for some serious piecing after all of that cutting, I sat down and chain pieced for a little while. And before you knew it, I had quite the stack of classic red, white and black. Now it all needs to be pressed but that will wait for tonight to go along with a good movie ;)
And speaking of things waiting, as much as I want to get stitching on all three of these projects today, I have my Bella Solids Challenge quilt that has to be finished by the 12th. But I am happy to say it is ready to go on the long arm so that is where I will be today and maybe tomorrow too ;) Happy Quilting!!!
Look like some pretty luscious projects. Chuckles quilt?
ReplyDeleteI love red, black and white quilts, but I am too chicken. How do you wash yours so the red doesn't run?
ReplyDeleteWhen making quilts with strong colours like red or black I prewash separately and when the quilt is finished, before I give it away, I wash it with a couple of these small white anti-bleed-colour or whatever name they have - sheets thrown in. Works so far.
DeleteKind regards from Switzerland.
So exciting. Love when I have a design board with a quilt all cut out and ready to stitch together. You have all kinds of lovely quilts happening. Looking forward to your Bella Solid finish!
ReplyDeleteI just looked on the Moda site, and it seems like it says the Jelly Roll day is next saturday, not tomorrow. You might want to check it out. You could have a free day tomorrow: whoo hoo!! :-) Hugs, H
