Surrounded at the Cabin

So this last weekend we spent up at Bob and Barbara's (my amazing in-laws) Newly Finished Cabin.  This cabin has been a Work In Progress for 3 years so it is very exciting that it is all done.   And I figured, since there is a sewing studio in the new cabin (love Barbara!!!) it needed a Work in Progress as well ;)  I went through some of my long term projects and choose my Surrounded Blocks that I started way back here.   So they are now my new Cabin project (along with my Selvage Stars but I forgot starch so I didn't work on those)  and I am super excited to work on them whenever we are up enjoying this new space!!!  And I even got 3 blocks done this weekend!!!

This is the temporary "work station" at the moment.  My sweetheart is actually taking up some sewing tables and other sewing goodies today, so I will be sure and get some good pictures of the space the next time I am there :)

But the best thing about this space that I can share today . . . The View!!!!   Isn't that just absolutely gorgeous :)   That peak that you can see off in the distance is Angel's Landing at Zion National Park.  So pretty!!!  We are so very blessed to have such a peaceful place to play and now sew as well!!!

I can't wait to get back up there (it's about 45 minutes from home) and enjoy the beauties of nature while sewing up a storm ;)

I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!

  1. Oh how lovely. What a sweet view and wow, a cabin in the woods with a sewing space. This is incredible. What a dream!!

  2. I have that quilt started too, but it is an intensive quilt!! :-) And I started mine when it was first published in a magazine!!! So many projects, so little time!!! And what an amazing "quilting" cabin! wink, wink! You are so lucky to have your MIL that shares the same hobby! What a beautiful place to sew!!! Hugs, H

  3. Blessed indeed. Zion NP is an amazing piece of earth's sculpture and you get to see it Angel's Landing when you sew! Love the surround quilt blocks. It's on my shortlist :-)

  4. Wow. Lucky you. It looks like a dream spot.

  5. Congratulations to your in-laws on the new family getaway!! What a beautiful spot to sew. Enjoy your visits!

  6. What fun to have a cabin with a sewing studio, especially with such a view! My son visited Angel's Landing last fall.

  7. The view and the blocks are both gorgeous. It’s such a pretty part of our country too.

Thank you so much for your sweet comments. I just love hearing from you!!
Have a Happy Quilting Day :)
