First, I figured it best to get my Beejeebers Bee Block done nice and early. Cheryl actually asked for the same set of blocks we did last month Charming Stars block and a nine patch, so they went really fast.
Cheryl asked us to use fabrics based on 3 Sisters Wintergreen line and wouldn't you know . . . I just had a sweet lady in the neighborhood give me some old fabric she didn't want anymore and guess what was in it. Some 3 Sisters and Fig Tree Co. Christmas lines from years back. Perfect!!!
I was so excited to lay this out and start sewing the quilt top together when Wha Wha Wha. Somehow, I forgot how to count to 16 and found that I still needed 1 block. I didn't have it in me to cut out another 100+ squares so I set these aside for the moment. (But not for to long, hopefully, I really want to finish this by the end of the month ;)
So instead of cutting tiny squares, I moved onto cutting all different sized squares and triangles. Yup, the Modern Building Blocks "Back To Nature" Edition has officially begun!!! I got all of 5 blocks cut out. They take a bit of time to cut out because there is so many different sizes and you can't really do it assembly line. Just 1 block at a time ;) I really want to start sewing these up but I promised myself I would cut everything out first, so then the sewing will be uninterrupted and so much more fun ;) And besides, my machine wen't in for it's annual cleaning today so I have a few days to spend just cutting ;)
And hopefully, my machine will come back at about the same time the last block from my Bees Knees Outdoors quilt comes in. It is in the mail on it's way here :) I can't wait to put this one together, it is going to be so awesome and I think my Grandparents are really going to love it ;)
Have a Happy Quilting Day!!
