Sundown in the Garden Quilt!!

 I was so excited when my good friends at Riley Blake Designs asked if I wanted to make this new Sundown in the Garden Quilt Kit!!!  I mean, how can you not get excited about all of that patchwork goodness in such happy prints!!  This quilt is designed by Riley Blake Designs for the new fabric line Sweetbriar designed by Rachel Erickson and I just love it!!! 

This really was such a fun quilt to make!!!  Just Half Square Triangles and simple patchwork and this goes together in no time.   It is a great lap size to whip up, and finishes at 61" x 73" so you can snuggle up in it as well!! Isn't it just so fun to see classic blocks redone in cute sashed settings and happy prints and colors!!!  

The design is Fat Quarter friendly, so you can grab a Bundle, and a bit of yardage for sashing, cornerstones, and a border.   I love getting to show off favorite fabrics in the borders, it is just so fun :)  Especially when the patchwork is small and doesn't show the larger scale prints as much ;)  And speaking of small patchwork, my 2 1/2" BlocLoc ruler was so helpful for this project!!! 

And when it came time to quilt it, I decided to do some fun custom quilting.  I can't help but do arches when I have such perfectly pieced squares in a grid.   And then some ribbon candy in the sashing and swirls in the border to add lots of texture.   And I love that I can always count on So Fine 402 Pearl to blend perfectly in all of these light and dark colors, my go to for the win every time!! 

And this quilt is now ready to be gifted for one of those special occasions!! 2023 Jolly Box!!!

 It's that time of year . . . when the Annual Jolly Box arrives in the mail!!!  If you are waiting for yours to arrive and don't want to spoil the surprise, close out of this post because there are spoilers ;)  

The Jolly Box is already sold out, so now I can share mine ;)  It sure went fast this year, and no surprise there, as it is filled with so much amazing Holiday Quilting Goodness!!!   This year's Jolly Box had me so very Jolly, and was the perfect way to welcome the Holiday Season ;)    

I was thrilled to find  adorable fat quarters from My Mind's Eye new Holiday Cheer Fabric!!  How cute are those gingerbread men and vintage Santa Claus!!!   And I always love a little mint and pink thrown in with my traditional red and green Christmas lines, so cute!!!  Time to start working on those Christmas Candy Dish quilt ;)  ;)

And the notions that  Fat Quarter Shop sent along with the Jolly Box are just so amazing!!!! How fun is it that Bohin packaged their amazing pins and needles in a Holiday Cracker.  My mom is British, so we always had Crackers on our Christmas Eve plates!!!  I have already hung the Candy Christmas Enamel Zipper Charm on my purse to help keep me in the Holiday Spirit while in the crazy stores ;)     And the Quilt As You Go Hot Pads are going to be so fun to make!!   And ya know, I always love Aurifil!!!

Novemer Sew Sampler Box!!

November has been such a lovely month!!!  It was so great to get to spend time with family over the holiday weekend.  And I have also done a lot of sewing behind the scenes.  I can't wait to share everything I have been working on.    And now I can add my new November Sew Sampler Box project to the mix!!     The theme for this month is Friends Fur-Ever and it is just such a fun box!!! 

I mean, how can you not get excited about gorgeous Tula Pink fabrics!!!  Tula's new Besties line is just so fun with fish, bunnies, turtles, cats, and dogs :)  I will admit, cats and dogs scare me, but I sure love bunnies and turtles :) And of course, I love Tula's bright and happy colors!!!    And how great is that Balcony pattern, I just love star quilts that have a twist!!! 

And the notions for this month are just great!!  The Classy Clamps will be perfect for hanging mini's and changing them out for the seasons ;)  And of course, you can always use more Wonder Clips, they just come in handy for so many projects!!!   And the Mettler variegated thread is just so pretty, makes me want to work on a pink quilt just so I can use the thread to stitch on it ;) 

And again, no Pressed Flowers Quilt Along this year!!!! But while looking up the fabric requirements, I did see this new Flower Press Bundle that just came out that I think will be perfect for this project "someday".  I mean, Pressed Flowers, Flower Press . . . It's like they were meant to be together.  I'll be snagging a bundle for future use!!! 

   

And just a note, there are currently some openings for this new years Sew Sampler boxes, it would be a great Christmas present to yourself ;)  

And that is November Sew Sampler Box.  I am so looking forward to Decembers Box, I put it under the tree for a little extra holiday fun :)
