A New Happy Quilting Pattern : Playful Posies!!!

Today I am just thrilled to be sharing another new Happy Quilting Pattern and Quilt!!!   Here is Playful Posies!!! Eeekk, I just love it :)   Doesn't it just look so happy with all of those little posies just dancing across the quilt!!

The  Playful Posies Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.

Playful Posies is great for beginners and experts alike.   The quilt is made with two flower blocks that are constructed with lots of Stitch and Flip goodness.  But no worries, I also give you some nested angled seams, so getting those perfect centers is super easy.   And again, we have a fun offset layout of the blocks to add to that "playful" feel of the quilt.

This version of  Playful Posies is made with Maeve by Crystal Manning for Moda and is the lap size.  This line comes out in October and I just knew it would be perfect for this quilt the moment I saw it.   These gorgeous jewel tones and stunning prints were just the right match for all of my playful posies!!!   And of course, the sky is the limit on which fabrics you make it from.    The quilt is Layer Cake Friendly, so you can grab a stack or two and get cutting!!!

I quilted this version of  Playful Posies with lots of curly q's in the background and then beautiful feathers in the block petals and tiny pebbles in the centers.  Feathers are really becoming a favorite of mine.  I can't believe they used to scare me so much, but I guess that is what practice does for us ;)   I just love all of the texture the quilting added and how those dense little pebbles make the white outline on the centers just pop!!   So great ;)

And there is already another Playful Posies quilt in process.  It has a dark background and I can't wait to share it with you all ;)   It is going to be the picnic size and it will be absolutely perfect for picnics with the dark background!!  And if you are like me, and want to make multiple sizes, you can find the sizes that work just right for you!!!  The pattern has 6 size options :  Baby, Child, Lap, Twin, Picnic and Queen.     So now you can make all the sizes :)

And that is my new  Playful Posies quilt and Pattern!!!    And I am just so happy with it!!!  I just know you are going to love making your own ;)   And of course,  if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me ;)  And when you make your Playful Posies Quilts I would love to see them!!!  You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or add it to social media with  #happyquiltingwithmc ;)  I can't wait to see your Quilts!!!

So are you ready to start making your Playful Posies Quilts???  Pop over to my Etsy Shop, to pick up your Patterns.   Again, PDF Patterns are just $5.50, the Paper Patterns are $7.00,  until July 2nd :)    And while you are there, check out these other newly released and re-released patterns that are also on the same special ;)  Always good to save on shipping!!

Thanks for popping in today and sharing this new finish with me. I still have two more new finishes to share this week so keep popping back in :)

I hope you all have a Happy Quilting Day!!!

Double Dutch - New Happy Quilting Pattern!!!

Today I am just thrilled to be sharing a new Happy Quilting Pattern and Quilts!!!   Here is Double Dutch!!! This is such a fun quilt to make.  I have already taught the class twice, and it was so much fun to watch everyone's blocks come together.  I can tell, this is going to be such a fun class to teach for the next little bit (In fact, I am teaching it at Garden of Quilts this Fall!!)

The  Double Dutch Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.

Double Dutch has lots of layout options, so you can make it as shown here with coordinating colors, or you can mix and match the colors like I did on the baby size (shown later)    The quilt is made with No Waste Flying Geese and basic piecing so it really comes together quick.  And with the fun offset layout of each block, it really gives the quilt a lot of movement.   Yup, just happy colorful windmills blowing in the distance :)

This version of  Double Dutch is made with Moonchild by Fran Gullick for Riley Blake Designs! I just love these beautiful colors and prints, and the line was perfect for the color coordinating I was going for on this quilt!!  And of course, the sky is the limit on which fabrics you make it from, it was so fun to see everyone's fabric choices for classes!!!  The quilt is Fat Quarter/Eighth Friendly, so you can Grab a Bundle and get cutting!!!

I quilted this version of  Double Dutch with lots of curly q's in the background and then beautiful feathers in the blocks.  I just love how they turned out and how the feathers in the blocks made it look even more like they were turning :)    And of course, all of the lovely texture is a double bonus ;)

And after I got the original quilted . . . I just couldn't help but make a Baby size  Double Dutch !!!   I wanted to show how fun it is to mix and match your color prints as well, so I used  a petite Fat Eighth Bundle of Forget Me Not by Allison Harris and then paired it with a fun Bee Lori Blue Background.   I think it turned out just oh so cute!!!

I quilted the baby size in an all over loose feather design. It was super fast and has become a favorite of mine, especially after quilting a big quilt all custom quilted :)

And if you are like me, and want to make multiple sizes, you can find the sizes that work just right for you!!!  The pattern has 5 size options :  Baby, Lap, Picnic, Twin and Queen/King.  The Baby and Lap sizes uses smaller blocks and Fat Eighths while the Picnic, Twin, and Queen/King are the big 20" blocks with Fat Quarters.   So now you can make all the sizes :)

And that is my new  Double Dutch quilts and Pattern!!!    You are going to have so much fun making these quilts ;)  And of course,  if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me ;)  And when you make your Double Dutch Quilts I would love to see them!!!  You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or add it to social media with  #happyquiltingwithmc ;)  I can't wait to see your Quilts!!!

Sewing Along with the Dragon Fruit BOM!!!

So if you have been following along for a while, you know that I am working on my Paper Piecing skills.  Hence the Vintage Sunbust QAL :)   Well, that QAL will be coming to a close soon, and I have really enjoyed having a paper piecing project each month to work on.  So I decided, why not join another :)   Especially when the new BOM is so, so pretty!!!   So I'm jumping in to the Dragon Fruit Block of the Month hosted by Fat Quarter Shop ;)

I mean, how can you not want to sew with all of this gorgeous Tula fabric!!!   And you know, I am just super excited about how much purple is in this quilt ;)  Each month, we will be making a group of paper pieced blocks using the exclusive Dragon Fruit Paper Piecing Pads.    I am just so excited!!

I don't know if you remember, but I planned to make a quilt of a similar idea way back here, but it never happened as I discovered paper piecing wasn't great for leaders and enders.  So when I saw this BOM, I knew it would be just perfect for a remake of that original plan.  I am also debating about adding a scrappy version of Dragon Fruit (because I so need to do some scrap busting!!!) but  I will wait and see how much time the Tula Version takes first :)

So do you have a desire to work on your paper piecing skills as well??  If so, this would be a great Block of the Month to join in with me!!!  The fun starts in October and goes until June 2025.  I can't wait to get started on all of this Paper Piecing in lovely Tula Goodness!!!

And now it just makes me wonder??  What are your feelings about paper piecing.  I can truly admit, I was not a huge fan when I first started it.  But I have done more projects, I am starting to like it more and more, especially when I can "chain piece" my paper Piecing.  Then it is super fun!!!   So how about you???
