June Sew Sampler!!!

Well summer is just flying by as per usual.   But at least I get to stop and enjoy my  Sew Sampler Box for last month.  The theme was The Sweetest Peach for June and it is just such an awesome month of quilty goodness!!!  I just squealed with delight when I opened it :)  

I was so excited for this Jelly & Jam Honey Bun by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda.   I just love Fig Tree Fabrics, the colors are just so happy and the prints are so vintage!!   Just such a pretty combo.   And how fun is that Peach Preserve Quilt Pattern!!!   Anything with 1 1/2" strips is just so much fun to make!! 

And the notions for this month are just awesome!!!   I always love a new ruler, (I like to collect them on my peg board) and this 60 Degree Tiny Diamon Ruler is just so cute!!!   I made this Vintage Windmill quilt with Krista Moser's 60 Degree Diamond Ruler, so the Tiny one will just be that much more fun!!!   And I am so excited for the Little House Glass Head Pins!!!  I love my Glass Head pins and both of my sets got misplaced on the cruise, so I am just thrilled to have these to replace them ;)    And always yes to Schmetz Needles!!!   

And a new month means another Pieceful Basket block.    I am going outside the box for me and using a Kona Lime Background, and a Milk and Honey bundle ,  Isn't this little Nine Patch Block resting in a basket  just so happy!!!

  And with the way this summer is going, all I have to do is blink and the July one will be arriving at my door ;)  Gotta love Crazy Busy ;)

Moonbeams Quilt Along - Release 5 - Tree of Life Blocks

Yesterday was the fifth block release of the Moonbeams Quilt Along and I am just so excited!  This is Fat Quarter Shop's 11th Annual Charity Quilt Along and they are always my favorite :)  This is the last set of blocks to be released and they are the  Tree of Life Blocks.   And how great are these blocks!!!  So many fun Half Square Triangles ;)  

I am using Imaginary Flowers for by Gingiber for my blocks.   I am just loving how all the prints pop on that beautiful navy background :)   And there are still some  Moonbeams Quilt Kit and Backing Set featuring Strawberry Lemonade Fabrics by Sherri and Chelsi for Moda Fabrics available, just in case you still want to jump in with this super fun QAL ;)     But of course, this quilt will look amazing in any fabrics you choose.  You can find the Fabric Requirements for the Moonbeams Quilt Along here!!!

Petal Pop and more Happy Quilting Patterns!!

 Thank you so much for all of the pattern love you have shared with me!!!  I am so glad that you are loving the 3 new Happy Quilting patterns I have shared this week!! Along with the three new patterns, 3 of my original Happy Quilting Patterns have also gotten a Make-over!!!  They are still filled with full color - wonderful illustrations to guide you along each step of the way but now have the benefit of 10 years of writting patterns :)         

 I so wish I had time to "re-make" each of these quilts as I Re-Release the patterns . . . but as you can see, things are a little busy at Happy Quilting, tee hee hee.   But, I really wanted to make a new Petal Pop quilt as I changed up the pattern a bit.   So here is the new Petal Pop!!! 

This version of Petal Pop is made with the gorgeous Kindred Fabrics by 1Canoe2 for Moda that is releasing any day now!!!   I just love the beautiful spring colors and stunning florals of this line, it was perfect for making my petals just pop!!!   I actually have had the quilt done for a bit and taught it in Texas in May, It just took a little longer to get all of the patterns ready to go ;) 

I had so much fun custom quilting this version of Petal Pop    The original Petal Pop was done for a magazine and it was before I had a longarm and I sent it out to be quilted.   So I was super excited to  tackle this monster sized quilt.   I did loose feathers in the background, daisies in the center, figure 8's down the sides, and feathers in the petals.  I think it just came together so beautifully and I love all of the yummy texture!! 

Petal Pop is made with a cool pieced log cabin technique. Trust me, the block isn't necessarily where you think it is, but it is way easier than it looks.     It is a great quilt for beginners and experts alike and   really is such a fun quilt to make.  And as you can see, you wind up with a fantastic finish  :)  

And that is my new Petal Pop quilt and Re-Released Pattern!!! Again, you still get all of the things you loved about Happy Quilting Patterns with this new Re-Releases and then some added technical writting goodness that I have picked up over the years.

A New Happy Quilting Pattern : Butterfly Whirl!!!

It's another new Happy Quilting Pattern and Quilt!!!   Here is Butterfly Whirl!!! And oh, I am just thrilled to be sharing this quilt.  This has been on my mind since clear back here in 2015 when I made the original namesake for Quilt Con.  I loved the layout but wanted to see actual pieced butterflies!!!  So ya, it was a long time coming, but I think it was totally worth the wait.  Isn't it just so pretty!!

The  Butterfly Whirl Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.  

 Butterfly Whirl is great for beginners and experts alike.   The butterflies are all traditionally pieced with lovely nested Stitch and Flip goodness.  So no paper piecing.   And once all your butterflies are pieced, the pattern walks you through step by step of how to put them into the "whirl".   It really is so fun to see it come together :)   And because of the layout, this is my first Happy Quilting Pattern without size options.   Just one size fits all for this one, 84" x 84".   The math just wouldn't math any other way :)  

This version of  Butterfly Whirl is made with a Willow Layer Cake by One Canoe Two for Moda.  I just love these gorgeous soft colors and beautiful prints.   It is just perfect for these dainty butterflies!!     The quilt is Layer Cake Friendly, so you can grab a stack and get cutting!!!  And if you choose the optional scrappy binding as shown, you will use up every last bit of your layer cake, so great :)   Don't you just love a scrappy binding, just so fun!  

I quilted this version of  Butterfly Whirl with a giant swirl that got bigger as the butterflies got bigger.  This meant I quilted on my domestic machine and man I haven't done that in a while.   Basting this quilt was a total throwback.   But I just love the way the swirl emphasizes the "whirl" of the design.  I will say, I wish I would have made the transitions a little less dramatic, but ah well.  I still love it!!
