More Happy Quilting Patterns!!!

  I am super excited to share that I am releasing 2 new Happy Quilting Patterns and I am also Re-Releasing 3 Happy Quilting Patterns!!!   Here are the 2 new Patterns!  (and I know, you have been waiting for Wandering Star ever since I shared it for H & H so thanks for your patience :)   

And here are the some more of my favorite patterns with their new look Same great patterns in book format with full color and size options that you are used to.   Just new printing!!   And you might notice,  there are a few updated tweaks in 2 designs.    Simply by Design got new sizes and ditched the border and Square Dance got some great interlocking of the squares!!! 

  

I will be sharing all of the details about the new quilts, throughout all of next week . . . but for today, I just wanted to pop in a share a first look at these new and new-again Happy Quilting Patterns!!!  

   

 

 And of course,  they are on special for their Release and Re-Release!!!  For one week the PDF Patterns are just $5.50, the Hard Copy Patterns are $7.00, (hence why I am sharing them all at once, so if you want to bundle and save on shipping you can ;)

Plaid Pumpkins in Quiltmaker!!!

Today I am so super excited to share a secret finish that I made a few months back! I have had this design in my head for quite some time and it is just so wonderful to finally see it in a finish.    And here it is, Plaid Pumpkins!!!  

Plaid Pumpkins can be found in the Fall 2024 Edition of Quiltmaker :)   The funny thing about this quilt that I share in the magazine, the idea for the design came just because I like alliteration.   I was thinking about pumpkins, (it was a few Fall's ago) and I wondered if I could "Piece Plaid Pumpkins"    Turns out you can and they are pretty cute :)    

And most of the pumpkins are put together with strip piecing!!!   So yes,  even though it looks like tons and tons of piecing, it really goes together quite quickly.   Cause you know I am all happy Fast and Fun quilting!!!   Plaid Pumpkins finishes at 79" x 79" so it is a nice large size to snuggle up in during the Fall :)  You are going to love making this quilt!!

Plaid Pumpkins uses yardage for all of the piecing and strip piecing.  I used  Shadow Play basics by Maywood Studios for a fun textured look of the pumpkins.   It was so fun to mix and match the warm tones to make the plaid appear in the blocks.  This is a complete list of the "color names" and yardage I used for the quilt ;)  

3 1/4 Yards Antique Cream for Background

7/8 Yard of Auburn for Stem and Binding

1/3 Yard of Spice for Cornerstones

1/3 Yard of Leap Frog for Leaves

1 Yard of Persimmon Orange for Pumpkin One

5/8 Yard of Orange Red Orange for Pumpkin One

2/3 Yard of Sunshine Yellow for Pumpkin One

1 1/8 Yard of Golden Poppy for Pumpkin Two

3/4 Yard of Saffron for Pumpkin Two

1/2 Yard of Cedar for Pumpkin Two

4 2/3 Yards Picante for Backing

When it came time to quilt mine, I decided on all over meanduring and loops that I echoed the lines.  I thought it gave the effect of the vines that grow on the pumpkin stems.   So fun, It just adds some more playful goodness to these Plaid Pumpkins ;)   

And I always love a good flat image!!!  Thanks so much to Quiltmaker for this image.    It just really shows off these adorable Plaid Pumpkins all in a row.   Wouldn't it be just so fun to actually be able to buy plaid pumpkins, it just fits Fall so perfectly!!!

Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt Along - Week 3

  It is Week 3 of the Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop and this weeks blocks are so cute and happy!!   This week we are making 2  Flicker Holiday Star Blocks and 3 Glisten Holiday Star Blocks!!! Didn't they just turn out so great :) 

For my Sampler I am using Sweetwater Christmas Prints from several lines paired with a POParazzi Grey Background.  I am trying to use grey touches from the Sweetwater Lines in the center of any blocks when I can, just so long as they won't blend into the background :)  I just love the added twinkle it gives the blocks.  This is sure fun piecing all of these tiny stars!!

Piece and Quilt Sampler QAL - Month 6

 It's Month 6 of the  Piece and Quilt Sampler Quilt Along and I am just so excited to share my sixth set of blocks!!!  This is really starting to come together and I just can't wait to see it all done :)   Thanks to Fat Quarter Shop for hosting this awesome quilt along from the Celebrate with Quilts book!! And here is the month 6 finish!!

I am making my Piece and Quilt Sampler in a diagonal Rainbow of Ombre goodness. (see plan here)  I am just loving this layout and truly, I might have to start sewing some of the blocks together to get a better picture of it all :)  So this month we started with a 12" Rosebud block.  This was such a fun block to make, randomly enough, for some reason it reminds me of sloth toes, but ya, Rosebud is a much prettier name. 

And then, it was on to the 12" Broken Dishes Leaf block.   I had so much fun playing with all of the shades of purple in this one.   And the pop of red and blue in the corner is really just making it shine.  Isn't it so great how all of Vanessa's colors in her fabrics just blend into one another ;)  

And last, but not least, we made 4 of the 9" Scrap Basket Blocks.   And yes, that was a lot of Half Square Triangles!!!   These 4 blocks will be sewing into the layout shown below to make a giant HST block, so fun!!   And again, just love those baskets in purple and teal to just add variety ;)
