Moving

I don't know if I have mentioned it here before, but we are getting ready to move across the country one last time.   My husband is finishing here at the end of June and we are moving back West to Cedar City, Utah!!!  I am so excited. .  My husband grew up there and I went to college there.  We both just love it and I can't believe after 10 years of waiting, we are a week away from moving to what has always been home in our hearts!!  The kids and I are going back 2 weeks early to get things set up.  And yes, I will be flying 5 months pregnant with 4 kids, I hope we all make it in one piece :)

So I have one week until I move!!  Crazy!!!  Because of this, I thought I would mention, if my posts seem a little more chaotic than usual, understand that things are a little crazy around here.  Never fear though, there will still be lots from Happy Quilting!!  In fact, I have 2 big posts planned for next week and I can't wait for them!!!  (But I will, so you will have to as well :)

And just to give you a little taste of the craziness that is our house, while preparing for a showing yesterday (I really hope someone buys our house soon :)  I came upstairs to find this.  Talk about a guilty face.  Oh yes, that is mascara.

Sometimes I wonder how our house is still in one piece :)  Thank heavens for Mr. Clean Magic Erasers!!!

  1. I don't envy you on that plane...The worst part will be the looks you get when you board the plane. I'm sure your children will be perfect little angels on the plane, right? Many blessings as you return to Utah.

  4. Good luck, mamma! I giggle at that face, because mine is two and would want 'lippie' too. Doesnt matter if it isnt 'lippie' I pray your flight is smooth and your travel is not too rough (with four kiddos and a bebe on the way!) xoxoxo

  5. I agree mascara is not as bad as when my GD had red nail polish all over her face. that was fun to remove.

Good luck with the sale of your house and the move.

  6. LOL! I feel your pain! We are a military family, and moved to Japan with a 4 year old and 15 month old. It was a marvelous 30 hour experience, that trip, punctuated by vomiting, screaming from ear infection pain, bouts of hysteria from the 4 year old who just knew we would crash, a 6 hour lay-over, and a second 6 hour ordeal with a broken airplane. When we landed I turned to my husband and said, "I hope you like it here, because we are never leaving, we are never getting on a plane again." Of course, we have gone on to move a dozen more times, but this trip is the ruler against which all badness is measured! I am truly sincere when I say, I hope your trip is smooth and uneventful!

  7. Oh my....mascara? I love Magic Erasers too and try to keep one all the time. I'm thrilled to know it works on mascara, though I hope my grandchildren don't make me resort to it. :) May God bless your move with laughter and nothing broken! blessings, marlene

  9. Oh my, I'm glad you and Kami weathered that one. Maybe you could find a nice older couple to adopt two of them for the trip. I have been adopted several times. My favorite (?) was a 3 year old. Her mother just wanted to sleep so she kept yelling (on a plane, mind you) for the 3 year old to go to sleep. She even took her to the bathroom and came back with the little girl sobbing. So we started playing games so the mother could sleep. She even helped me crochet. The Mom had a nice 4 hour nap while I played every quiet game I could think of until the little one also dozed off. Did I get a thank you? Ha, ha. But I did enjoy the flight.
    You'll make it!

  12. Oh my. That makes me want to send you a picture of my son. He was 2 and it was the day of his birthday party. My daughter yelled down that he had "gotten into the lotion." I had no idea what she was talking about until I saw him. Yeah, Vaseline. A whole jar. All over his face. It was bad. 3 baths and a hair washing with dish detergent later, he had bloodshot eyes but he was squeaky clean!

  14. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bless Your Heart is what we say here in the South. That statement covers a multitude of sins! Every little girl has tried out the mascara at least once. The look on her face is priceless. Good luck with your move. Home is always the best place to be. I've never seen much of Utah but pictures always made it appear so barren. However, those who live there love it so I must not be seeing the pretty side of UTAH. I flew over one time and could only see Big Rocks. Tell me more about the state when you have time.
    Blessings

  18. I was to Utah for Quilt Market last month....what I saw of Utah was beautiful....the mountains are breathtaking. There are lots of wonderful quilt shops in Utah and it is also home to a lot of fabulous quilt pattern and fabric designers. Good luck on your move....the picture of your daughter is priceless.....guilty as charged....(o:

  19. Don't worry, you will be fine..I moved from Japan to Maine when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant.. with two other children in tow. Let's just say it was too long of a flight for that fat belly! Other than that flying was fine. Movers are great with a pregnant lady.. and planning ahead things for the kids to do was genius!!

  20. Hahaha... the little girl remind of my 3-year old niece who used all my lipstick to create some graffiti on my walls. She's still adorable though.
