So what is all the buzz about this Aurifil you ask?? Well I wasn't sure until recently when the good people at Aurifil sent me a wonderful package in the mail :) Here is what was in it :)
Don't you just want to drool. I just love all of the amazing beautiful colors they have. Both in wool and cotton weight. Yes, I will admit that I stared at these for quite some time just taking in all of the amazing color goodness!!
And then I opened my little spools and played around a bit. Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. And now I can say I know what all the buzz is about. These were a dream to work with.
So do you want a chance to try these amazing threads out for yourself?? Did you notice these awesome little thread packs in the original picture . . . Well 5 lucky readers will have a chance to try them out :)
There are 5 packs to give away and each pack will contain five spools of thread; one of each weight in cotton and one wool.
The 50 weight (orange spool) used for hand and machine piecing and appliqueThe 40 weight (green spool) used for machine quiltingThe 28 weight (grey spool) used for for a bolder look when machine quilting and for hand quilting and blanket stitchThe 12 weight (red spool, 2, one in cotton and one in wool) used for decoration, embroidery, and embellishment
???

ReplyDeleteI am a follower and have been using Aurifil for almost 6 months now. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI am already a follower. I have heard so much about this thread that I did go out and buy a spool to try myself. I did just use it for the first time last week at my first quilting class. I noticed a definite change in sound while winding bobbins with that thread on my machine. It was really smooth sounding which was very nice. I did stitch and things went well during class. Sadly, my first block is horrid looking so I redid it using different fabrics and did not have the color of Aurifil that would go well with the new fabrics sadly. I would love to try more of the different weights and would love to try again. If lucky enough to win, maybe the weight for machine quilting is the right color for the class project and I can use it then.
ReplyDeleteYou are on my blogroll.

ReplyDeleteI am a happy follower. I have one spool of 50 wt that I have used for hand piecing my hexies since every other thread in my house knots up on me. I like it. I would love to try more but would you believe that with more 10 LQS in the St. Louis metro area not one of them caries this thread?! The closest place is a cute shop in Effingham, IL. Although, I ma on my way to a brand new LQS, just opened today, maybe it will have some. THen, there's another opening Saturday, maybe it will have some, too.
