How Did you Spend National Quilting Day???

Saturday was National Quilting Day and lucky for me, the sun was shinning which means the kids joined daddy for some major yard work/play.  Which also meant the littlest kid and I enjoyed some major sewing room time!!

I managed to finish sewing up my book blocks that I started here.

Then I cut, placed, and secure-stitched some applique.

And I even managed to sew it all into a quilt top that actually got basted the same day!!

All in all, a pretty fabulous way to spend National Quilting Day!!

I am hoping to get this quilted up today (as soon as I decide on a design) with that tutorial soon to follow :)

So how did you spend National Quilting Day????

  1. I didn't even know it was quilting day!! Love it! Can't wait to see how you quilt this one!

  2. I didn't know it was quilting day...but I finished quilting and binding my daughter's twin-sized I-Spy quilt. IT got finished after she was in bed, so she woke up under it the next morning.

  3. Great Melissa! I got together with friends to sew....take a look here..

  4. I finished my sampler quillow - I'm snuggling under it now :o)

  5. I spend the afternoon at my LQS taking a class and it ended in the Emergency Room at the Hospital as I tried to slice my finger off with my rotary cutter! :)

  6. Tease ;o) I spent mine making a 90" square quilt top

  7. I taught my 5 year old to sew!! She made herself a throw pillow!

  8. Great fabrics. I spent my day sewing too.

Thank you so much for your sweet comments. I just love hearing from you!!
Have a Happy Quilting Day :)
