I spent the weekend trying out a new Free Motion Quilting design, which I absolutely love!!! It is called Wood Grain and is from the
Machine Quilting Negative Space with Angela Walters craftsy class. I so enjoyed this class and really felt that I learned a lot of great helps that have given me more confidence in my quilting.
I choose to mainly focus on the "knots" which is a little different from the original design, but I like the overall effect. The design was really easy to get the hang of and went relatively quick for such a dense design.
The design so lends itself to the quilt, which sadly I can't show anymore of for a while. But I will say, that I am just head over heels happy with the way this quilt turned out. So excited!!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!! Did you get in any time at your sewing machine??
wow! you just amaze me! this is fantastic and would look awesome on a quilt with lots of greens and browns.

That looks so cool!!!! I cant wait to see the complete project! I did get in a tiny bit of sewing time, but not what I hoped to get in. Oh well.
ReplyDeletewow, that is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilting! It almost looks like little flames :) Unfortunately, I don't get to spend much time in my sewing space on the weekend :(
ReplyDeleteThose wood grain FMQ looks really cute! Great job!
ReplyDeleteGREAT wood grain quilting!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Love Angela!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great!! You did a great job on that! Nope, no sewing time: I'm in Utah (Manila and South Jordan) visiting family. I go home tomorrow, so maybe I can sew after I catch up!! :-) Hope you are doing well. Hugs, H in Healdsburg
ReplyDeleteLuv the wood grain design it would look great turned vertical on a modern quilt. Yes I did get to quilt Saturday and Sunday! I put the finishing touches on a quilt I've entered in our local county fair. Also, I made 3 mug rugs, one for my grandson's teacher as school ends Friday and 2 for co-workers June birthdays.
ReplyDeleteNicely Done!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like that wood grain pattern - that would look great in a "guys" quilt! No sewing for me :o( When it gets nice out, I go out. I have 9 months or so of rain and gloom so my Juki takes a Summer break!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome! I so want to learn how to do that, I love the look of it. I can barely free-motion quilt as it is (don't have enough time to devote to it) so it will probably be a while before I tackle that. In the time being I will just enjoy everyone else's work.
ReplyDeleteCool :o) I had a play with that pattern a wee while ago, it was fun
