Almost There

I finished up all the corners and sides for my Star Surround top last night.  To say I am happy about how well the Star Surround QAL is going would be a vast understatement.  It is just so wonderful to have so many great friends to Quilt-A-Long with and I am so totally excited that it is nearing the end and I will get to see everyone's finished projects.  It's my favorite part of hosting a Quilt-A-Long!!

So this weekend, I will be taking all of the pieces and turning them into these beautiful blocks and the blocks into a quilt top in order to have the tutorial ready for Monday Morning.  Seriously, I can't believe how quick this has gone.  I mean, the last tutorial of this series is Monday and Grand Prize Linky will be opened.  I can't wait, and then everyone gets them quilted and the parade,  Oh, I am getting ahead of myself.  One week at a time :)

Have a Happy Quilting Day!!!  I know I plan to, that is, right after I clean my bathrooms ;)

  2. So pretty!!! I'm sitting at my desk pinning the last 7 blocks worth as we speak. And I'm loving it. Already planning a second one because my daughter is drooling over it and I refuse to give this one up!

  6. Love your block!! Wish I could have gone along with you on this one, but it has been a way too busy summer: two trips to Utah from Calif dealing with my Dad's health issues, a week at Young Women's camp, and helping my hubby with his business (but at least we are busy and making money!!), and I didn't sew a stitch in two weeks till last night, and then it was only a purse kleenex holder!! Why is life so busy? I thought I'd have MORE free time when my kids got older??

  7. So very beautiful!!! Right now, I'm making {a little bit tacky} lap quilts for my boys, but I have plans to make one of these quilts for me. Thanks so much for great instruction - - it's fun watching the quilts come together!

  8. during Craftsy BOM 2012 someone started a discussion about a warped cutting mat( or bubble) . I was interested because I have one of those too. Some folks said they tried heating it but that didn't work. I seem to remember someone saying that the opposite works , cold ...like ice or freezing the mat. I'm wondering if any other blog fans remember this or know of this method since I didn't try it right away and doubt if I can find that post now.
