  3. My mother was dedicated and loyal - especially to the family.

  4. My mother is in her 70's, She has 6 married children, twenty-three grandchildren. most married, and eleven great grandchildren. She still cooks for holidays and she thinks she has to make fried apple pies for us. She tries to make at least 50 each time when she's able. So what do I like about my mother? Her loving kindness, her (and Dad's ) moral upbringing. but mostly her love. Thank you for the giveaway, even though I really can't put into words everything I like (love) about my mother.

  5. My mom firmly believed that anything you put your mind to, you can do. I live my life based on this. If you think you accomplish something, you can. She was such an "encouraging" person. Miss her so...

  7. I just lost my mom in March so this will be my first Mother's Day without her. She was a wonderful cook and there are so many great memories I have that include some of her best dishes. My siblings and I have all tried to emulate her gift of cooking, but we can never do it as well. Mom we miss you so much.

  8. My mom just lost both of her sons to cancer within the last 6 months. Even though her heart is broken, she is carrying on with life. Her strength and faith in God inspire me.

  9. I would describe my mom as brave with a big heart. She travels the world with my father, working with local ministries and missionaries. She's lived in places far out of her comfort zone, eaten things I never would have dreamed she'd try and done it all with a smile on her face and love in her heart. The thing I'm most proud of is that she truly loves the people she meets and works with. They are what she talks about when she comes home.

  10. I love the fact that my mom is a people person. She cares about others and has taught me to do the same. She will go out of her way to help and once she has helped you you are a part of our family. We have many people in our lives that are part of our family! :-) Thanks Melissa- It has been really fun to spend time thinking about my mom this week. K-

  11. There was absolutely nothing my mom wouldn't do for me. We were close when I was growing up, but we became extremely close once I was married and became a mom myself. It was then that we became true FRIENDS. When she died 20 years ago, we lived in different states, but we talked on the phone almost every day. Because the memories of her are painful, I usually avoid thinking of her too much, but I want to thank you for asking us to share. The memories make me sad, but I choose to see that as a good thing. I wouldn't be sad if I didn't love and miss her so much!

I never mind being told, 'You're just like your mother', it just makes me proud to be like her, I just wish she was still here with me so my two boys could have known her.

  23. My mom never got angry or upset and always found the humor in every situation. She taught us to think in terms of the future. If it wasn't going to matter a year from now it isn't worth worrying about or getting upset about. It's amazing how many things that start to upset you just aren't that important when thought about in those terms.

    ReplyDelete
  24. My mother had empathy. She worked with disabled children and was so caring and giving and was so kind and wonderful - to EVERYONE she met :)

Just yesterday I got to see photos of all the birds frequenting their feeders. I may only see her once a year, but she makes a huge effort to keep me in the loop so that I don't feel so far away.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My mom shares her love with her family as well as friends and spouses. She even has friends that drops by to visit her and see how she is doing. Thank you and your sponsors for all of the generous goodies. Someone is going to be enjoying this awesome giveaway. Could it be me? Just want to wish you a happy Mother's Day.

  38. My mother is one of the most generous people I know. She'll drop whatever she's doing and help us out, it doesn't matter what she's doing, or what time it is. My mother (on her birthday) went with me for my 2nd mammogram, my results were positive for cancer. My mother put everything on hold in her life to accompany me to every doctors appt., surgery and chemo treatment, all while taking care of her and my father's lives. She also helped with my 6 yr. old and many things at my house. I hope I'm as wonderful a parent, friend and person as she is, I try. It's been 9 yrs and as much as I try,I still don't think I come close to being the loving generous women she is, that I aspire to be. I've been taught by the best, I'm very lucky, so is my son. It has only been in the last little while that I realized that she put sugar into a lot of the dishes she made. I guess it took the tartness out of various flavours.

She was always there for all of us and we miss her and my dad so much. As much as she took care of all of us, she was always there for others who needed help - mostly older neighbors who didn't have families and couldn't drive. She would shop for them and take them to doctor appointments - even when we didn't think they were very grateful to her! She made us pitch in and help too!

  136. My mom is a fighter. She had a hard life and had to quit school in the 8th grade to help support her brothers and sisters. She has always valued education and made sure that her children got a good one. She supported all five of us without any help from our father after he left us. She has shown me that being independent and tough is a virtue to have.

  137. My favorite characteristic about my mother is that she is full of love and forgiveness for everyone. Most of my friends call her Mom because she is like a mom to them. She tells them she loves them and gives them hugs. She has been that way forever! She is an extremely forgiving woman...even to those who have done me or her wrong. She believes in turning the other cheek and giving people another chance. She is a good Christian woman who strives to be the person she feels God wants her to be. She is not only my mom, but she is one of my best friends as well.

  138. Most of my life I was introduced as Esther's daughter. And the other person's face would light up and tell me how wonderful my mother was. My mother never met a stranger. She'd chat while in line at the market. We used to tease her asking if she had invited to Thanksgiving Dinner!

  139. For some reason my comment published before I was done. Even after my mother died friends of hers would introduce me as Esther's daughter. Those great big smiles would happen and I would swallow a lot so tears wouldn't come. They are right now.

  169. Her strength. Dad died when I was 9. She was left with 3 kids to care for, a funeral to pay for and no insurance. That much I remember, because she took on a second job to make ends and to keep us kids in familiar, consistent surroundings. Over the years, as I grew and matured, I saw more of that strength in almost everything she did. She died when I was just 20 and a new mom myself. We three kids were set adrift without her.
I got my first longarm in December, a Gammill Classic Plus, and I named her Louise, after my mom because this machine has strength and power to spare, like my mother did.

  173. I thought my mom was the most loving and giving person. What I didn't know until her death is that her fellow nurses thought she was the most intelligent person they had the pleasure of working with. That statement was made to me at her funeral and I have never forgotten it. My mother started a family early and years later got her GED to go to nursing school. She studied so hard and it paid off. She graduated with honors. My mom was loved by everyone.

  182. My Mom had courage & daring. Not in a skydiving kind of way, but in a loving commitment way. My Dad was career Army; she was a farmer's daughter who had never traveled anywhere. He was transferred to Japan, but she was pregnant with me & stayed home. But 6 months later she got on a train by herself with her 2 daughters (6 months & 1-1/2 years old), traveled across the country, got on an ocean liner to sail off to join my Dad. Her youngest sister still marvels at her courage. Thanks.
