First the good . . . I got on my ipad this morning to find an email from the lovely folks at Free Spirit Fabric asking if I would be willing to bring my Off Kilter quilt to Market with me so they can hang it in the Free Spirit Booth!!!! Of course my answer was Absolutely, yes, yes, yes!!! I can't tell you how happy I was to get that email, it really made my morning ;)
Then the bad . . . I got on the computer to write about it and it all went downhill from there. I can't get my internet to come up. I can't get Adobe to open. I think I have a virus. Major Panic!!! My husband has been working on it and I think he has found a temporary fix . . . but Ahhhh!! I hate computer problems. Mostly because I feel so utterly inept to deal with them and I start thinking worst case scenario and freak out. So here is hoping I can take it in and some lovely IT person can bring it all back to normal. I hope, I hope, I hope :)
Have a Happy Quilting Weekend ;)
Congrats on having your quilt on display at quilt market. You will have to post pictures of the booth!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the quilt news...and I feel your pain on the computer issue, so very sorry!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the quilt display! It is such a lovely one to display, it was only a matter of time!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on having your fabulous quilt at Market!!! Totally deserved honor - love that quilt! About the computer...I so agree with you and unfortunately most of the big box geeks can't rescue what you have on your computer :( Lived through that but I was lucky that a friend was able to retrieve everything BEFORE I took it in, where they told me they couldn't save anything! Hope your experience is better!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news! We look forward to seeing your quilt at Market in a few weeks. I understand your frustration with technology. It truly stresses and freaks me out too. Good to have great IT and programmers in your circle of associates. ~Shari
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!! such wonderful news!!! And I love the Free Spirit solids: they are tightly woven and feel like you are working on quality fabric. I'm so happy for you!!! Have a great weekend, and good luck with the computer!!! My 25 yr old is my IT tech: I guess raising them has some perks!! (No, not a real compter tech, it's just that they are so much more adept at understanding how to fix things on the "Magic Box") Hugs!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! and then...
ReplyDeleteDo you have an anti virus program on your computer?? If not a great free one in Malware Bites. Try to download it if you don't have one. If you do do you know how to run it with your computer in safe mode?!! Honestly...if you take it into IT that is the first thing they will do!! (My Baby Brother is a computer nerd...I mean genius ! He has saved me more times than I can count!)
Congratulations on your quilt! I assume you're talking about the Houston Quilt Market? I'll have to stop by and see it in person.
ReplyDeleteSidenote: I moved to a Macbook almost 10 years ago. I can't begin to tell you how much better it is for lack of viruses. I was replacing laptops for my girls every two years because of problems they had created with viruses (which is what drove me to the Mac). I've never installed virus protection on the Mac and it's good to go. Just last week a file tried to open as a virus or bot or whatever. After searching the internet, I found a fix and I'm good again. Okay, off my soap box now. :-)) Just for the record, I've used PC's since the 1980's and still do at work. They're great, just not as secure.
Have fun and good luck.
WOW! I love your quilt!!
