October Bees - Check :)

After shipping out last months blocks the last day of the month, I was determined to get on top of things this month ;)  So here it is the 10th and I am done.  Not to shabby ;)  I had so much fun this month with my blocks.

The first was for the Bees Knees bee and it was a block that I have had on my "To Do" list for a long time.   Shari  asked us to make a Modern Maple Leaf block from Amanda-Woodward Jennings pattern found here ;)  This block was so much fun to make.  It just moved making an entire quilt of these way up the to do list ;)   And this was actually my first time ever quilting with linen.   Ya, It was so fun!!

Now Shari was kind enough to cut everything before sending it so I totally didn't do this on purpose, but look how awesome, this little giraffe lined up perfectly.  Don't you just love it when that happens ;)

And for the Beejeebers group, Barbara asked us to make a Delectable Star block using this pattern by Cindy Carter.   This is going to be so pretty in Christmas red and green.  I can't wait to see it all come together ;)

And now my cutting mat is clear and I am ready to take my cut squares from earlier this week and start turning them into quilt tops ;)   How about you, any fun quilting projects on your list to do this weekend??

Have a Happy Quilting Day!!

  1. I love the Delectable Star block! It's so pretty; I think I want one in every color combo! I have a bee meeting on Saturday and another on Sunday. I plan to work on some needle-turn applique (first time! so I need bee friends to turn to for help) and on my Kennesaw Mountain quilt (pattern by Red Crinoline Quilts). The KM quilt has lots and lots of little flying geese. I'm not learning to love them, but I am learning to live with them. :P
