I read an artible recently by a long time quilter that listed several elements every quilt should contain, and polka dots was one of them. I have to say I agree. I love polka dots in quilts. I have a navy dress with white polka dots. It is so comfortable, and I love wearing it in the summer with some sandals. This is the extent of polka dots in my wardrobe, and I only bought it last year so I am still venturing into this polka-dot-wearing thing!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite polka dotted possession is a navy blue and cream colored silk polka dotted dress from J. Peterman that my sweetheart gave me for my birthday about twenty five years ago. I think I've worn that dress to half the special occasions since then--it's in every picture in every album, everywhere. I love it. It never goes out of style, and it always fits. It's like a magic dress.

ReplyDeleteI have a navy with white polka dot dressy skirt and top set that I really love. Perfect for all sorts of things, from weddings to funerals. My favorite dress as a 1st or 2nd grader was a navy dotted swiss with a white collar. I was so angry with my mom when, in trying to keep the collar white, she spotted the navy with bleach. Not nice spots either.
