I am teaching my Wonky Irish Chain pattern this morning and then I will be teaching my In Your Neighborhood pattern this afternoon. I just love teaching and these 2 quilts are so much fun to make, I just know we are going to have so much fun in class ;)
This is my first time teaching out of state and I have to say, I was a little surprised at how much different the packing was. I normally just load up my car with boxes and ironing boards, cutting mats and my break outs. This time I had to be much more methodical about it ;) First went all my patterns and books, heaviest on the bottom right ;) Then I went to add my step out boards and found some of them were to big. A little rearranging and trimming down, and they went in next, packed between the quilt.
And then last, but certainly not least, a change of clothes ;) Funny how it seemed like the least important thing to go in there ;) Good thing my husband had the foresight to get me new luggage for Christmas as he knew I was going to be traveling this year. I never would have fit all of this in my old suitcase ;)
I will be back Monday with lots of pictures of my little teaching excursion ;)
Have a Happy Quilting Weekend :)
I am sure they are absolutely thrilled to have you there! Your skills and talent will be so appreciated in such a venue. Have a great time. Wish I could be there.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having an absolute blast in California!!! Packing to fly definitely takes a different mindset then packing for a drive and having the right suitcase makes all the difference!! Enjoy and inspire!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, eventually, I'm going to take a class from you. I don't know when, but I will. :-) It's not even like I'm that far, being up in SLC. Oh well. Sometime...
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!! Wish I were there, but Calif is a pretty long state and I'm about 7 hours away!! Hope you have a good time! :-)
