DeleteThis may sound a little funny, but my favorite ornament on our tree is: when my husband and I were buying ornaments for our first tree, we found little 2inch stockings, his was green and mine was red. without talking to each other, and without the other knowing, we each put a little something in it for Christmas day. He gave me a pair of delicate earrings, I gave him a new tie clip. That has been a very special reminder every time we put them up.
ReplyDeleteI treasure an ornament my son made years ago, with his photo framed in sticks:)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is a snow scene on a pink ornament, which was my childhood favorite. My mother gave it to me when I got married, and it's a good thing she did. Just a few years later, her house was hit by a tornado, and she lost all of her Christmas things, except the pink bubble gum ornament (what I called it when I was little). Each year, it is the first ornament to go on my tree, placed prominently by me; and each year, I treasure the memories (connected to it) of the wonderful Christmases my parents sacrificed to give to us. How blessed I am!! -- and this ornament is a constant reminder of those blessings!
ReplyDeleteMany years ago my husband and I moved across the country and couldn't return to spend Christmas with our families. I wrote (yes on paper with an envelope and stamp) to his family and mine requesting an ornament that was a childhood favorite. I asked my mom specifically to send the multi-faceted silver colored ball. My husband's mother sent a metal Santa. I hope I never forget the look on my husband's face as he opened the package and placed the Santa on the tree. We still have those ornaments. kthurn@bektel.com
ReplyDeleteMy favourite ornament is a gold Mickey Mouse shaped ornament that I got when I visited Disney world for the first time with our family xx
