  34. I've been battling illness for the past week myself. I've given myself the gift of REST. I literally did NOTHING other than that which I HAD to do. The rest of the time, I spent reading or watching Netflix, which I never have time to do. No cooking, cleaning, etc... Just REST. After 5 days of this, I feel as though I've finally turned the corner. Hopefully the stomach virus will never return and the cold, which I came down with the following day, will not develop into sinus infection, bronchitis or pneumonia, as it normally does. Feel better!

  54. It's no fun being sick. A mom's world keeps on spinning no matter. A little sunshine & some deep breaths outdoors always helps me. If weather is also yucky looking at family photo albums is always a picker-upper.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You can't fight with a cold, it'll always win. But I rest, drink hot tea, and read. I received quilting books for Christmas and a new book by Debbie Macomber. If you fight it you'll be better in a week to ten days, but if you give in you'll be better in a week to ten days, but you'll have seen lots of inspiration.

  57. My husband built me a beatiful sewing studio. When I have a cold, or since I am chronically ill as well and struggle often from it or treatment sickness and need to rest often, he put a pretty little sofa in there with a tv mounted on the wall complete with cable tv, and my playstation is hidden in a pretty cabinet (yes, I am a game playing grandma) my favorite books on a little table sit next to it. This is all very seperate from my sewing and crafting area, its a relaxing area. When i have a cold, i drink tea with Honey and mint, lay on my sofa with my "sicky quilt" which is extra warm, and I have a lot of options to keep me busy. I also like to lay there and knit or crochet...if I dont fall asleep listening to music on my Bose speakers my kids hooked up around my studio for my Christmas gift while my husband runs back and forth checking on me and babying me ♡. I MIGHT be spoiled by him a tad. :) I love that man.

Spicy Mexican is a good alternating meal or back-up plan, but the Chinese is really it for me. I think my immune system perks up in self-defense!
