  12. Sunrise service has become a tradition for us. Members of our church host it out at their home, which is high on a river bank and faces east. It is wonderful to watch the sun come up on this special day.

  20. I love decorating eggs! And over the last (less than) 10 years, it's been super fun to hide those eggs for my nephew to find. He gets just so darned excited when he finds an egg! Then he likes to hide the eggs for us to find, but he gets so excited by that, that he ends up showing us where the eggs are! I don't want him to get too old for that...

  52. Our family Easter traditions include: first church, then everyone comes over, we have an Easter egg hunt for all the grandchildren, and then Easter dinner, for which everyone brings something. Spring flowers and hooefully sunshine enhance this wonderful celebration.

  61. I have really fun memories of egg hunts! Being the youngest, I came up short a lot, but I have always loved this tradition the most.
    When I was coaching, I used to take teens & college kids hiking in the forest where I had hidden eggs - it was a tough hunt that everyone loved!

  82. We always go to the sunrise service followed by a brunch at church. This Easter we will do this then I will have all the cute little 2 year olds in their Easter frocks in the nursery during the regular service. How fun!!!

  118. We don't really have any traditions now, but when we were kids we thought it was magical to get those chocolate eggs with pink icing around the outside and our names on them. It was great! And I like having ham (instead of turkey, which I don't like!) :-)

  121. What I love the best about Easter is having a late morning brunch with my loved ones. I adore breakfast and whats not to like if you are allowed to combine breakfast with lunch?! The potential! As a matter of fact: I should perhaps consider introducing a brunch for Christmas as well!

    (or maybe not, as I also happen to be a huge fan of Christmas dinner...;))

  126. When my grandchildren were small, I always made them new Easter clothes. Now the girls are teenagers and want to shop for a dress and my grandson wants a suit, so we have a shopping tradition. I think my family is the only family that likes Peeps, so I buy everyone Peeps.

  157. Since the kids are grown, we don't do much for Easter anymore. I do remember dying the eggs and baskets of candy. My husband asked a few years ago if I was going to dye some eggs (kids have been gone about 10 years). They never grow up!

  161. I grew up dying eggs and having an egg hunt. My daughter is only three, so we are still trying to find our own traditions for her, but it definitely involves finding eggs - either in a traditional hunt, or following clues in a scavenger hunt (which is what my husband grew up with).

  168. One of my favorite Easter traditions is that our Easter Bunny is an equal opportunity guy. The eggs can be found both inside and outside the house. Which is good when you live in a place there could easily be snow on Easter.
