ReplyDeleteWhoops--my comment disappeared. I was saying that I gave up smores when I became a vegetarian, so now my favorite camping food is the granola my brother-in-law brings for his grandkids. He is a great one for always having snacks and water and other essentials; I try to stick with him because he also always has a smile.

ReplyDeleteS'mores are the best. I love trail mix and fresh fruit and veggies. We keep it pretty simple. He also likes jerky and summer sausage. Sometimes the hubby freezes steak and then we bring it in the cooler, but we only did that once when I found it reduced at the market.

I've not been camping since I took girl guides. We had lots of fun making ovens with tin foil and cooking things in them, so that would be my fav.

ReplyDeleteI like all campfire food. My hubby does all the food when we camp. I think I'll choose campfire bundles. Your meat (marinated chicken), potato chunks and veggies all wrapped in tinfoil and put over the coals. Plus a little butter. Swoon.

ReplyDeleteStill think about the breakfasts we had while camping. Crumbled bacon, potatoes and scrambled eggs all in the same pan. Oh and sugary cereals, the only time my mom bought them was when we went camping.

ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time camping. When our son was in scouts he would make the best mixed berries with cake on top. my favorite was his cherry and blackberries one. He also made an awesome chili. all done in a dutch oven.
