Each Saturday (or close to that ;) this year I have posted my Splendid Sampler Progress sharing my blocks for this awesome year-long quilt along that is being hosted by Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson. The blocks have been created by over 80 different designers and each have a Splendid Story to go along with them. You can find out all the details about the Splendid Sampler here and visit the Splendid Sampler Facebook Group to see blocks from over 20,000 Quilters quilting along!!!
The block I designed for The Splendid Sampler is called Lots of Love was actually the third block shared of this fun Quilt Along so it has been a little while since it's debut, but you can find out all about it and the bonus project I made to go along with it right here ;)
And since that block, I have made quite a few more!!! If you notice above, my block is all purple, and that is because I have been making Monochromatic blocks and I just love them!!! My plan is to add these Monochromatic blocks into a fun black and white Irish Chain setting ;) Because you know, I love Irish Chain Quilts!!!!! So when we get to the end of this Quilt Along, I hope to have a finished King Size quilt that will look something like this. Isn't that so fun!!!!
And the exciting thing is, I am half way there now!!!!! Here is what halfway of my Splendid Sampler is looking like ;) EEEkkk, I just love seeing them all together, isn't that just the prettiest rainbow of blocks!!!! They look so small all together (finishing at 6") but that represents many wonderful Saturdays stitching away with lots of wonderful techniques. I think that is my favorite thing about the Splendid Sampler is that each block is so unique and so everyone is learning so much along the journey!!!! (And please excuse the lighting in this photo, the sun was behind a cloud then wasn't, and after 30 plus minutes of chasing blocks in the wind, I decided it was going to have to do. Gotta love the Wind in my little town :)
I can't tell you how much fun this wonderful Quilt Along has been an seeing all of these blocks together makes me so excited for the next half !!! So Happy 50th Splendid Sampler and here is to another 50 more amazing blocks!!!
And let's get to that Celebration Giveaway!!! It's no surprise that I choose an Irish Chain layout for my Splendid Sampler as I have a book called Irish Chain Quilts and a signed copy is going to one lucky winner!!! Along with that, I am also including a signed copy of the new 180 Doodle Quilting Designs ;) You can read all about this wonderful new book right here. Hopefully it can get some ideas sparking on how to quilt your own Splendid Sampler ;)
