  1. In middle school, it my favorite subject was what they called Home Economics. We learned cooking, home time management, child care, and sewing. Nothing I made fit, but I loved sewing things. Quilts are so much easier. Lol.

  11. Favorite subject in lower elementary was always Reading. Still love to read. By upper grades I loved Math. Ended up with a math major and library science minor in college. Masters in Library Information Science.

  26. What seems like millions of years ago, it was home economics. I remember making an outfit and hair dodad for a fashion show and making a very long snake that was stuffed with scraps of fabric I think for a gift. That thing was heavy to carry home! Memories that crop up! Enjoy your blog!

  55. In junior high (does anyone call it that anymore?) we had one quarter of sewing in Home Ec, and I loved it! Band was my second favorite, and I had that in grades 6-12.

  93. My favorite subjects in high school were Art and History. Then I moved on to Economics and Political Science. Then I got a job doing Math. All subjects were pretty good, but I might have learned the most useful stuff in home ec. Follow your blog.

  102. We use to put on little skits after recess. We had puppets and all sorts of things. Wish school was still like this today. Really pushed our creativity .

  116. I loved school, every part of it, well, except History. I'm volunteering in 6th grade this year at our local elementary school, and they way they teach History now is riveting! I love it! Math is so much better too than the rote memorization that we did.

    When I ask my Kindergartener what her favorite part of her day was, she says ... SNACK TIME!
