  11. My green thumb does pretty good as long as the weather cooperates. We've already bought some beautiful plants for the patio, and now the weather was near freezing last night. I had to move them closer to the house, but today it will be around 70. Good ole' Louisiana!

  15. I have improved over the years. The trick is.... as all things in life, learn from your mistakes.... and boy have I made a few.
    Never plant ivy or "wild rose" in your garden. Only plant in pots.
    I love this green fabric. I do not have a lot of greens

  17. Well green has been my favorite color since I was little. And I gave over 180 pots of aloe vera plants so I guess I have a green thumb. I also have a lot of house plants and pots of other plants outside. With my husbands help our backyard has been called a botanical garden.

  22. When it comes to outdoor plants - the vegetable garden, flowers, herbs, shrubs, I do alright, but when it comes to indoor house plants I have no green thumb at all. They don't last long with me!

  26. I grew up on a farm with a vegetable garden. Over the years, I planted my own garden and flowers. I don't miss bending to plant seeds and pull weeds. Now that I am retired, I have a few house plants to keep my green thumb covered in dirt.

  48. No green thumb here. I am surprised that I have been able to keep an African Violet alive since the end of May. Usually it would be dead long before now. Not sure it is going to last much longer, though. Hope I can revive it!

  56. I do love having flowers and plants around. I used to have a ton, but have slowed down in the past few years as it's a lot of work. But, I'm looking forward to flowers on my balcony this spring.

  69. My "green thumb" is fair. I have managed to keep a cactus plant (Christmas Cactus) alive in my house for @ 20 years. Outside, I plant new annuals each spring and fall. Other than that, our trees are on a drip system.

  101. I don't have much of a green thumb, although I seem to do better with potted plants outside than with houseplants. My daughter, on the other hand, has grown both a red maple and a loquat from seed.

  102. My green thumb does not exist. I tried growing dwarf tomatoes in large planters two years ago, and something ate all the leaves off the plants before a tomato could even think about forming. I swore to quit forever. I already have my hobby anyway :)

  112. In my younger days I had a very successful vegetable garden every year. My sister and I canned hundreds of jars of tomatoes, beans, pickles, relish, chilI sauce, and more.
    Most of my quilt following is done through YouTube.

  117. Green thumb?...hmmm...I’ll answer your question with a true story. When my daughter was in college, she liked to have a cactus for her dorm room. In the summers she worked on an Army Corp of Engineers barge and would leave her cactus with me. Three different times I managed to kill her cactus. So no....no green thumb on this lady. Lol

  163. Sometimes my thumb is green, sometimes not--it depends. Quick funny story-I was in JoAnn's with my son looking at planter boxes that were on sale. He said to me, "What? Your looking for coffins for your plants!" So that's his opinion of my thumb!
