  63. I used to babysit all the time, but my first real job where I paid taxes was working at a huge housewares store on Long Island, NY. The store was well known for its huge selection of many many items. It was always crowded and it was common to have your checkout line have at least 20 plus customers waiting to pay. It was so long ago, customers often paid in cash and you had to do the math in your head for correct change...no computer to give you the answers. I loved the challenge of a long line and to try to work as fast as possible so customers wouldn't have to wait too long. I really loved that job. I worked there in HS and then when I would return home from college on long breaks and summer time.
