  7. As a beginning quilter I have never designed a quilt. I just completed a throw quilt and it was all I could do to finish that lol. I'll get there though and I sew enjoy it - that's really all that matters. I have yet to use anything other than a rectangle so I am going to have to buckle down and get over the fear of cutting triangles, etc and using them. ctopp(at)richhill(dot)k12(dot)mo(dot)us

  36. Most of my early quilts were designed on regular lined notebook paper in pencil and colored in with crayons. Then several years ago I purchased EQ5 and that was so fun, I would love to have this new version, everything I have seen about it looks amazing!!!

    I use mostly graph paper for designing quilts....I have several books worth of designs. I have also drawn out a design on a disposable paper tablecloth in a ribs restaurant....using crayon...lol!

  86. I've designed borders using paper, pencil, and calculator to get an estimate of what I think I want. Then I actually lay the center of the quilt and the border fabric on the floor to make final decisions.
