Tutorial Throwback Thursday - All In A Row :)

Spring is finally starting to peek through the clouds here in Cedar City, and I am so incredibly grateful for it!!!  Being able to go outside with the kids and play in the backyard is such a blessing to us each day.   Thank you Spring!!!   And so for today's Thursday , I wanted to do a Throwback that reminds me of Spring.   So we are going back 5 years to the All In A Row quilt.   Everything about this quilt, from the fabric, to the design, to the pictures of trees budding just reminds me of Spring  and warms my heart.

All In A Row is obviously a row quilt.  I used some of my favorite basic blocks to make up the rows . . . and aren't Hearts and Homes just perfect for our current staying at home!!!  And I absolutely love the little 9 patch dividing rows, they are just so cute and tiny!!!   The piecing is all very basic and so even though it looks a little tuff, it is still beginner friendly ;)    It finishes at 57" x 70" so it makes a great size for snuggling up with!!!     And there is even a printable version of this All In A Row tutorial, so double bonus!!!!

All In A Row is a Fat Eighth Friendly Quilt, which is always fun since there are so many bundles to choose from.   I  used Brenda Riddle's Ambleside because this quilt was designed for my Grandmother and I gave it to her on her 85th birthday.  (which means her 90th is this summer!!!)  My Grandmother grew up in England and Brenda Riddle just captures English Countryside in all of her fabric lines!!!   It was a perfect fit.   And the beautiful soft tones again just gives this a welcome spring feel!!!

All In A Row was a very special quilt for me to design and make!!!   I used the house blocks in the center because they represented all of the trips to my Grandma and Grandpa's house (she lives in Canada now) for summer vacations!!   The Star blocks represent precious memories of my twin sister and I walking with my Grandma to the bus stop in the very early morning.  We would watch the last of the stars fade as the sun rose while sitting on the bus stop bench.    And I can't make something for GG without having Hearts!!   There is so much love wrapped up in this quilt and I am so grateful for that!!!

And that is my All In A Row Quilt!!!     I hope you have enjoyed today's Tutorial Throwback Thursday as much as I have!!!    And maybe you can make All In A Row for someone special to you!!!      To make your own All In A Row quilt  just click on any of the project name links for the free step by step tutorial.    And when you are done,  I would love to see your Quilts!!  You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com, post it to social media with #happyquiltingwithmc  :)   I can't wait to see your All In A Row Quilts!!!
