  15. Well not falling asleep is a way of life for me. I first take 10 deep breath’s and then I think about my dream vacation, house, car, meeting someone famous.......I think how it goes what did I enjoy, There is just so many ways you can go with any of these ideas.

  17. Love Olive & Evie’s notions section. I love looking through everyone’s notions to see if there is something I need. Well, I found the cake mixes, YEA! Oh and the 3 spray bottle for starch....they are adorable. On my list to purchase. T. Long

  24. Dear Melissa: It happened last night. What I do is get up and go out to the sofa, cover up with a cozy fleece blanket, and sleep there. It worked!

  26. I used to have this problem. I would go and read something boring. Now I just take 1 mg Melatonin every night before bed and it does the trick. I took 3 mg but I got weird dreams so it wasnt worth it. As my doctor says about it, "more is not necessarily better here"

  27. When I can't fall asleep (rare, since I'm really ready to sleep by bedtime!) I like to put on headphones and listen to instrumental music for a bit, or pick a psalm to say over and over again in my head.

  56. When I can't sleep I think about my current quilt project and what yet needs to be done. I try to calculate what fabric I might need in my head and that pretty much conks me right out!

  83. I get up and do a puzzle for awhile. I learned the Air Force Pilot's relaxation method so I fall asleep pretty easily but the arthritis pains wake me up a lot.

  130. I read a tip in a book about good sleep, that you should pick a letter of the alphabet and then try to think of inanimate objects that start with that letter. I guess it's supposed to bore you to sleep. I've tried it and I guess it works sometimes.

  132. When I can't sleep, I write a letter to someone since there are always letters needing to be written. Then I turn on a movie I know very, very well, and snuggle up with our snuggliest dog, and literally count my blessings, telling him all about how thankful I am for him, and for this person and that person and this dog and that thing that happened, and before you know it...

  140. When I can't sleep, I recite the Articles of Faith to myself. If I get through all 13 without falling asleep, I know its time to get up and do something for an hour, then try again. I usually don't get past 6 or 7.

  141. If I can turn on my light I'll read. If not, I think about relaxing my joints starting with my toes including toe nails. I generally don't get farther than my hips, if I can keep focused on what I'm doing.
