ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition was to take my kids to see the Nutcracker ballet. We stopped going after they left home. I decided this year that I enjoyed it so much that I bought tickets to take my best friend and her husband. I can hardly wait! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOh my, she had my heart with the Little Lou Lou’s quilts project. I am a pediatric ICU nurse (all ages, including premie’s discharged from NICU) and have seen the love and appreciation our patients had for quits given to them. Now that I’m retired, I make quilts and donate them to my dear PICU patients.

ReplyDeleteWhen the kids were little I made an advent wreath of felt with little stuffed felt ornaments and symbols of the season. They picked one from the bag every day and then stuck it on the wreath. After they left home I put it up all assembled for several years.

ReplyDeleteWe have the younger grandkids over for a sleepover and do a bunch of Christmas activities. This year we made sugar cookies, had an indoor snowball fight, played bingo, put up Christmas decor, watched a movie and stayed up till midnight. Big fun!

ReplyDeleteOne thing I do every year is to make homemade Buttermilk Pralines. My mom saved the recipe from an old Ann Landers column in the newspaper. They are the best, and I've never had a problem with them not getting hard.
