A New Happy Quilting Pattern : Wandering Star!!!

Today starts the week of sharing new Happy Quilting Patterns and Quilts and I am so excited!!!   Here is Wandering Star!!!   And can I just say I love this quilt!!!   I got to teach it at Garden of Quilts and it was so fun to see everyone's version of it. It really is such a fun quilt to make :)

The  Wandering Star Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version.  And it is on Special for it's release with PDF Patterns at $5.50 and the Paper Patterns are $7.00!  The patterns are full color and the paper version is in book format.

Wandering Star is an intermediate skill level pattern, but we had some beginners in our class and they did great as well!!     The quilt is made with a fun double star block and then pieced sashing creates the secondary stars.   The pattern teaches you lots of techniques including no-waste flying geese, stitch and flip, and some basic pieceing.  And the fun part is trying to guess which stars are the blocks and which stars are the sashing.   I know, it looks a little confusing, but the pattern makes it super easy to see how it all goes together ;)

This version of  Wandeing Star is made with Seaglass Summer by Sweetfire Road for Moda and is the queen size.  This line comes out in January so you still have to wait for a bit, but it is so worth the wait!!!  The colors and prints are just so pretty and soft.   And you know I am all about those beautiful purples, it is what drew me to the line initially.   And of course, the sky is the limit on which fabrics you make it from.    The quilt is Fat Quarter Friendly, so you can grab a pack and get cutting!!!

I quilted this version of  Wandering Star with echoed swirls and paisleys.   I love all of the wonderful movement and texture it gives the quilt.   And it really goes perfect with that "seaglass ocean" look of the fabric as it gives that wave looks.   And once again, my favorite 402 just blends perfectly with both he background and the prints.   It really is the best color thread ever!!

Wandering Star, like all of my Happy Quilting patterns, has multiple size options so you can make whatever size quilt works for you ;)   I already want to make this one again using a dark background, I can't wait to see how those center stars will just pop!!!   I am thinking a Child size when I make it again, (easier to carry around to classes) and now I am just on the lookout for the perfect fabrics for it ;)   The pattern has 6 size options :  Baby, Child, Lap, Picnic, Queen and King.     And yes, they are all square size quilts, it is just the way the design works out ;)

And that is my new  Wandering Star quilt and Pattern!!!    And I am just so thrilled to be sharing it in full!!!  I know I shared a sneak peek back here and you all have been patiently waiting for the pattern.  Thanks for your patience, things have been crazy busy ;)   And now I am just so happy that it is finally finished and ready to share!!!   And now I just know you are going to love making your own ;)   And of course,  if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me ;)  And when you make your Wandering Star Quilts I would love to see them!!!  You can email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com or add it to social media with  #happyquiltingwithmc ;)  I can't wait to see your Quilts!!!

So are you ready to start making your Wandering Star Quilts???  Pop over to my Etsy Shop, to pick up your Patterns.   Again, PDF Patterns are just $5.50, the Paper Patterns are $7.00,  until October 5th :)    And while you are there, check out these other newly released and re-released patterns that are also on the same special ;)  Always good to save on shipping!!
