Crossing Paths in Painted Blossoms!!!

Today I am super excited to be sharing this beautiful new Crossing Paths quilt finish with you featuring the oh so adorable Painted Blossoms Collection by Amanda Cocoran for Poppie Cotton!! And I have been wanting to make a larger Crossing Paths quilt with a dark background because I just loved the baby version like that!!   And I just love how this came together!!!

This Crossing Paths quilt is such a fun one to make!!!   It is Fat Quarter Friendly, so you can just grab a bundle, pick out your background fabric (I used Country Confetti Sidewalk Grey), and get right to cutting!!  Isn't it just so fun how that Sidewalk Grey background just makes all of these beautiful prints just pop!!  They are so happy and bright, and that just makes me smile!!

And while this might look a little difficult, Crossing Paths it truly is a great beginner quilt that teaches a lot of basic quilting techniques.  You learn Square in a Square, Stitch and Flip, and Now Waste Flying Geese.   And if you notice, there are only about 4 points that you need to worry about lining up on each block, so that makes it super fun and fast when it is time to piece all the units into blocks!!!

And my favorite thing about this pattern is how the cool secondary designs come out to play when the blocks are all sewn together.  You really do get a chain effect with the corner units and sashing diamonds!!   And you know how I just love to design quilts with chains hidden in them ;)

And once again, I am so thankful to my amazing MIL Barbara.   Barbara is just helping with so much  quilting and piecing while I continue to get caught up with so many other projects :)  And how adorable is her quilting on this one!!!  She quilted echoed butterflies just floating across the quilt top.   Just so charming!!!

And yes, the  Crossing Paths Pattern  has multiple size options, so you can make whatever size you like. This is the picnic size, but you can make it from a baby size all the way to a queen/king size ;)  And like I said, it really is great for all levels of expertise, and is truly a fun quilt to make!!

And that is my Crossing Paths Quilt! I hope you have enjoyed this post and consider making your own Crossing Paths Quilt!!! And if you do, I would love to see it! You can share your projects with me on social media with the hashtags  #happyquiltingwithmc and #crossingpathsquilt and tagging @happyquiltingmc or email me a picture at happyquiltingmelissa@gmail.com.
