$5 Pattern of the Month - Stacked Squares!!!

It's June and that means its time for a new $5 Pattern of the Month here at Happy Quilting!!!  And June is all about Stacked Squares.  And it is just $5 all month long!!!   

The  Stacked Squares Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version and both versions will be marked down to $5.00 for the month June.   This is such a fun quilt to make and really goes together fast.  It is a fantastic scrap buster, especially for using up all of those leftover Low Volume Fat Quarters!!   It is rated for Beginner quilters and is Fat Quarter Friendly.  

Stacked Squares has 7 size options.   It is an extremely versatile deign.  The pattern is written for using both scraps as well as Fat Quarters, and you can mix and match both to get the pieces you need.     And I know, cutting scraps can take a little longer so I designed most of the quilt around 2 1/2".  That way it works for leftover Jelly Roll Strips as well, or you can use an AccuQuilt 2 1/2" Strip Die to really speed things up.  (My AccuQuilt is my favorite tool when working with Scraps!!!)    And don't you just love that you can also do a scrappy binding, perfect way to use up all of those bitty bits of binding leftover!!  

Stacked Squares is all about the print fabrics standing out against the low volumes ;)  So a huge helpful hint when making this quilt . . . Try to make sure your prints really "read" one color.   Whether you are doing it scrappy, or all from one fabric line like below, just make sure your chain fabrics are really popping!!   By reading a specific color, they won't  blend into that super fun low volume background. 

Truly, it is just a wonderfully versatile pattern and just so fun to make.  I taught this on a Quilting Cruise a while back (like 3 years) and made the  "Cruise Kit" version, as well as a "Christmas Version".  And yes, both of these tops are still in the "To Be Quilted" pile, yup, they are officially part of the new Happy Quilting Ultra Marathon ;)   I'll try to get these done this month so you can see them all finished up while it is still the Pattern of the Month ;)
