Sneak Peak of Turning Dusk Into Dawn!!

Today I am thrilled to be sharing a new quilt finish that is also a "Sneak Peak" of one of my new Happy Quilting Patterns set to release on August 8th.  This is Turning Dusk Into Dawn and it features the soft and sweet Bluebells and Buttercups  fabrics by Elea Lutz for Poppie Cotton.   I am just so in love with this new quilt pattern, and know that you are going to love making it to!!!  I mean stars are great, but bursting stars, sew, sew, sew, great!!!   

Turning Dusk Into Dawn is a Fat Quarter Friendly pattern.  It also combines the fat quarters with an  accent fabric for the center and sashing stars and a background.  I knew right away when I saw this collection that it would be perfect paired with a black background to make all of those wonderful soft prints just pop!!  And then I got the great idea to use it as a "pattern test" for this new pattern and give it the whole different look of the origianal :)    So I worked on the pattern, while Barbara was kind enough to do the pattern piecing and testing it as we went along.  

Turning Dusk Into Dawn is a great skill builder design.   And almost all of the piecies "float" on the background, so there is really only two points that you need to worry about lining up in the entire block.  Super bonus!!   This quilt will teach No Waste Flying Geese, Double and Single Stitch and Flip Units, and a few angled seams.  And Turning Dusk Into Dawn really lets you play with where you want the prints as there are four different prints in each block and they rotate throughout the quilt.   So pretty!

The Turning Dusk into Dawn, like most all of my Happy Quilting patterns, has multiple size options.  This is the Twin Size that finishes at at 68" x 90", so it is a size to snuggle up in and it will still cover your feet.  And of course, it will also fit a twin size bed with lots of lovely drape. 

And there were acutally enough Fat Quarters left in the bundle to make a fun Baby size version as well.  This one finishes at 46 x 46 and I just love it in the soft pinks and blues.  Isn't it just adorable!!  I can tell already this is going to be a favorite baby quilt to make!
