$5 Pattern of the Month - Corkscrew!!!

It's October and that means its time for a new $5 Pattern of the Month here at Happy Quilting!!!  And October is all about Corkscrew.  And it is just $5 all month long!!!   

The  Corkscrew Pattern can be found in my Etsy Shop in both a Paper version as well as a PDF version and both versions will be marked down to $5.00 for the month October.   This is such a fun quilt to make and teaches Half Square Triangles, No Waste Flying Geese, and Pieced Square in a Square units.    It is rated for Intermediate quilters and is Fat Eighth Friendly.  

Corkscrew  has 6 size options.   Each size making more blocks.   And as you can see, there is no sashing or anything, so once the blocks are all done, you can whip together your quilt top.  The biggest key in this quilt is choosing your accent fabric (the black) and making sure it will stand out agains all of your prints.  

Corkscrew  is a perfect quilt to do in any rainbow basic bundle.   I really want to make up this design using Laundry Basket's Square Dance Fat Eighth Bundle.  I just love the soft tones, isn't it just so pretty ;)   And I really think the softer tones make the secondary "floral" design stand out all the more.  So fun!!

  

But you don't have to stick to a rainbow layout.   This quilt is truly versatile, and would look good in just about any Print Fat Eighth Bundle.   Here is the same soft fall vibe not in ranbinow layout, using Butternut & Safe by Fig Tree.  I just pulled the darkest Brown from the line to use as the accent, and then did not use that brown in any of the blocks ;)
