Fast & Fun Sampler Quilt Along - Week 6

But before we get to Week 6 . . . we need to pick the Week 5 Winner of the Layer Cake of your Choice  from Lou Lou's Fabric Shop.  And the winner is . . . danettestankovich !!!!   I have messaged you.

WEEK 6 - AURORA & KEYSTONE BLOCKS

It's the sixth week of making blocks for the Fast & Fun Sampler Quilt Along and we are getting closer to putting it all together!!!  And just a reminder,  I am making 2 versions of the quilt, so you only need to share one set of blocks ;)     You will need your copy of Fast & Fun Lap Quilts (which is available in both hard copy or e-book format)  for the piecing instructions as well as the Week 6 - Aurora & Keystone Block Pattern  supplemental directions for making your blocks ;)  This week we will be so fun, with a block from the Aurora quilt and lots from the Keystone Corners quilt!!!

We will get started with the Aurora Block from the Aurora quilt.     You will be using directions from pages 25-33 in your book and the Week 6 - Aurora & Keystone Block Pattern  for supplemental directions to make your blocks.  

And there is no sashing for this block ;)

And now, it's time to make the Keystone Blocks from the Keystone Corners quilt.  We will be making 24 Keystone Blocks and then sashing them in quite a few different layouts.   You will be using directions from pages 12-17 in your book and the Week 6 - Aurora & Keystone Pattern  for supplemental directions to make your blocks.  

Just pay close attention to the supplemental directions for all of those sashing layouts ;)

WEEK 6 - SHARE YOUR BLOCKS

And just like that, you are done with Week 6!!  And now, you get to share your progress!!!   Lets see your week 6 Aurora and Keystone Blocks and enter to win prizes :)    Here's how:

Bountiful Quilt Along - Release 3 - Sunflower Blocks

 Today is the third release of the Bountiful Quilt Along and I am just loving working on these blocks!!!  This is Fat Quarter Shop's 10th Annual Charity Quilt Along and they are always my favorite :)  The 1st Friday of each month will be a new release for blocks and today are the Sunflower Blocks.   And how cute are these sunflowers!!!

I am using Meadowmere for by Gingiber for my blocks.  I love that there were lots of green's to choose from for the stems as well as all of the pretty pinks and reds for the florals.   And all of that gold metallic just makes me smile   I really think this is just going to be so chic when it is all done :)    

So are you joining in with the Bountiful Quilt Along fun???   You can download the block pattern right here and it is requested for each pattern you download to donate $10.00  to the Make a Wish Foundation :)  And I am super excited to say that even though it has just started,  Fat Quarter Shop's annual charity QAL has already raised over $ 50,000!!! The goal is $1000,000 which will allow for 16 wishes to be granted.  How awesome is that!!!  And Moda Fabrics and Fat Quarter Shop have joined to match up to $30,000 :)  So many amazing wishes :)

WEEK 5 - DUTCH DAYS AND THREE O BLOCKS

It's the fifth week of making blocks for the Fast & Fun Sampler Quilt Along and we are really getting a lot done now!!!  And just a reminder,  I am making 2 versions of the quilt, so you only need to share one set of blocks ;)     You will need your copy of Fast & Fun Lap Quilts (which is available in both hard copy or e-book format)  for the piecing instructions as well as the Week 5 - Dutch Days & Three O  Block Pattern  supplemental directions for making your blocks ;)  This week we will be 6 blocks , 2 from the Dutch Days quilt and 4 from the Three In A Row quilt!!!

We will get started with the Dutch Days Blocks from the Dutch Days quilt.  We will be making 2 Dutch Days Blocks.   You will be using directions from pages 35-38 in your book and the Week 5 - Dutch Days & Three O Block Pattern  for supplemental directions to make your blocks.  

And you are only adding a small sashing to one side of the block, and it doesn't matter what side you add it to ;)

And now, it's time to make the Three O Blocks also from the Three In A Row quilt.  We will be making 4 O Blocks.   You will, again, be using directions from pages 6-11 in your book and the Week 5 - Dutch Days & Three O Block Pattern  for supplemental directions to make your blocks.  

And again,  you are only adding a sashing to one side of the block, and it doesn't matter what side you add it to ;)
