  9. I've always liked the saying "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans" but didn't know who said it. According to Google search it was John Lennon. Who knew? And he also said "Reality leaves a lot to the imagination". Random thoughts for the day...

  30. I am a follower but because that is not what you want to hear I will share my current dilemma...when did summer become so busy it is difficult to enjoy? I have so much going this summer that I don't have time to breathe and I am not enjoying it. I love the laziness of summer. There is no way to fix the problem either. UGH!! I keep telling myself...its only for July then things slow down but I am not sure if that is actually gonna be the case. BUT Knoxville AQS show is in July so I am looking forward to that!! I bet you regret asking me for a comment LOL

  31. So many choices - I like that there are patterns and such besides just fabric. If my youngest had to choose, she would choose the Just Ducky fabric (she loves ducks). However, since I get to choose, I really like the Sugar Pop Raindrop.

  44. Hi! I found this quilting quote and love it - on Shop So Obessed:
"A quilt is an object of peculiar intimacy. By virtue of the way it is created, every inch of the fabric is touched. Each scrap absorbs the quilter's scent and the invisible oils of her skin, the smell of her household and, thanks to the constant pinning and stitching, her blood in the tiniest of quantities. And tears, though she might be loath to admit it."

  144. Ok since you don't want me to say that I am a fo........ :) I'll give you a story. :)

One day, a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river and her thimble fell into the river.
When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, "My dear child, why are you crying?"

The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that she needed it to help her husband in making a living for their family.

The Lord dipped his hand into the water and pulled up a golden thimble set with pearls. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked.

    The seamstress replied, "No."

The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a silver thimble ringed with sapphires. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked again.

    The seamstress replied, "No"

The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather thimble. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked.

    The seamstress replied, "YES."

The lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her all three thimbles to keep and the seamstress went home happy.

Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the same riverbank and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the water. When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, "Why are you crying?"

"Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!"

The Lord went down into the water and came up with Matthew McConaughey. "Is this your husband?" the Lord asked.

    "Yes," cried the seamstress.

The lord was furious. "YOU LIED! That is an untrue!

The seamstress replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I had said 'no' to Matthew McConaughey , you would have come up with Mel Gibson. Then, if I said 'No' to him, you would have come up with my husband and had I then said 'yes' you would have given me all three. Lord, I'm not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands, so that's why I said 'yes' to Matthew McConaughey."

The moral of this story is:
Whenever a woman lies, it’s for a good and honorable reason and in the best interest of others. That's our story and we're sticking to it!

    ReplyDelete
  145. I've been thinking of boy baby stuff since we have our 2nd Grandchild (a boy) about to arrive in early September. Because of that, I seem to be noticing those types of fabrics a lot lately.
I really love the Fat Quarter Bundle of Nursery Rhyme.

Having said that I REALLY LOVE the Fat Quarter bundle of Folk Life by Anthology. Those are all such gorgeous colors and would make an awesome quilt.

And then I need to mention this one only because it's so interesting; not necessarily a favorite but possibly one that might grow on me ya know. That one is called "Green Shingles". It caught my eye for some reason and an unusual print I don't think I've seen before but will keep in mind.

  155. Gorgeous fabric! This morning I must walk my daughter's piano books down to her piano teachers house so they are there when she stops by after school for her weekly piano lesson. It is raining. I love walking in the rain though, doesn't everyone? :-D

  156. OK, yes, I'm a follower (but neither a sheep nor a stalker)! I'm thinking these fat quarters would go nicely into my FWQAL blocks (you KNOW I mean the Farmer's Wife, right?)

  157. My favorite(s) at Sew Obsessed would have to be the Nicey Jane bundles! I love this fabric line every time I see it; how is it I don't own ANY of it? I'll have to rectify that situation, I can tell you that!

  166. The reason I am commenting is because I found out about the giveaway whilst I read through my google reader and your pictures were pretty enough to capture my attention to read further and see that you are having a giveaway. (does that tell you I'm a follower without telling you I'm a follower??) :)

  170. I hope this this "clean". I LOVE to buy fabric. I have stashes everywhere. (Sometimes I actually make something from my stash.) I was on the phone with my sister in law and asked if she wanted to go shopping with me. She replied with a chuckle and said "you're ??? fabric ???" I didn't hear correctly and busted out laughing thinking she said "you're a fabric wh0re" when she actually said "you're gonna be fabric poor". We both agreed my interpretation was closer to the truth. (And, yes, I'm a Happy Follower)
