The List

So once again, it has been a little while since I have done a Work in Progress Wednesday so I thought I would check in once again with the list.  But first, here is what is on the top of my Work In Progress Pile.

First priority, My Road 15 quilt.  I cut this out almost 3 weeks ago and then it had to be set aside for some other projects, but it is once again at the top of the list.  I have done a little piecing but there is a long way to go.  But I am so excited to see this one come together.  I think it just might be my all time favorite design :)

Next on the list, do you remember this quilt I showed for Bloggers Quilt Festival, well, the Alumni Director at my University and I are good friends and after some chit chat I am making a second one for Homecoming next month.  (And I plan to finally write the pattern with this second one, I decided to wait on it as I think I can incorporate some strip piecing to save time and wanted to try it out with this one :)

This is how far I have gotten on this project.  Yup, I bought the fabric :)    I have to say, I am a little weary of doing that applique all over again, but I am hoping that since I already have the templates cut out it will go a little faster.  And question???  Would you like a tutorial on how to do layered appliques??  I figure I could take some pictures along the way if it is something you are interested in.

Once those two quilts are done, my plan is to focus on quilting up these finished tops.  I can't believe I never got my Starbust Quilt top pieced from the Spring Quilt-A-Long.  Lame me.  I would just be over the moon if I could get all three of these quilted by the end of the month.  That is the goal, well see :)

So that is the top of the priority list.  Here is the rest of the rundown :)

  3. Beautiful stuff and long list...
Just a suggestion for your applique: submit the SUU design to spoonflower (or similar) and order it as a printed fabric. You can probably get a few on their minimum yard (?) order. Then you only have to applique 1 piece.

  4. You are just one busy gal. Lucky us, we get to see all of the eye candy without being exhausted from all the work! Are you sure you are not the Energizer Bunny in disguise?

  5. You're so organized with your projects. Your blog is so inspirational and I really enjoying reading it. I do have a question though. In the last photograph of this post you have three quilts. Can you tell me their names, especially the top one? Also, where can I find the pattern for them? Thank you again for the inspiration.

  6. I would love a tut on the applique process! But the spoonflower idea sounds good too! The applique is the best part of your great quilt!

  8. I love the look of the college quilt... Although, I can't say that I love the colors ;) SUU used to be in our conference, so I ran against them in college - even ran a conference cross country meet in Cedar City!

  11. Yes, please, to a tutorial on layered applique! I have a project sitting because I don't know whether to applique little pieces together and then applique that completed piece to the quilt block or to applique each piece to the quilt block one at a time.

Also, I cut fabric for the Starburst quilt over the weekend and got all of my flying geese and goose in the corner blocks done on Monday. I hope to start assembling the blocks tomorrow on my day off. :-)

  18. Love the look of the SUU quilt. I made one very similar with Crown Royal bags cut out for the centers. I strip pieced all the 3 piece blocks and it was much easier to sew together. If I hadn't been doing fussy cut centers I would have strip pieced that section too.
