For Beejeebers Bee, Cathy asked us to make a Charming Star block from this Moda Bake Shop tutorial and a coordinating 9 patch block. I love the colors she asked us to use, and always have fun raiding my scrap bins :)
Then for the Bees Knee's group Sinta sent us some of her saved Heather Bailey prints and asked us to make a block using Little Miss Shabby's Tiled Blooms Pattern. (Which is free at her blog) I love applique, and especially adorable petal applique. This one was so fun and so fast ;)
And then I had an "extra" Bee Block this month. These Anna Maria Horner Feather Blocks are for a group of Individual MQG members who are making a Charity Quilt Con quilt :) I am so glad the MQG found a way for us Individual members to participate in this as well. I have wanted to make these Feather blocks forever, and I was so happy to cross them off the bucked list. Because, while I enjoyed making 2 of them, I don't know if I ever would want to make a whole quilt ;) Another fun bonus of bee blocks ;)
So now I just need to send them off in the mail and then it is time to do a little quilting ;) I have another secret quilt loaded on the long arm and am ready to quilt the day away ;)
I hope you have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful feathers. I still want to make a quilt
ReplyDeleteFun sewing there!!! I have been wanting to make those feathers for a long time too. They look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLuv to see the charity quilt with the feather blocks once it's completed.
ReplyDeleteI am ready to make my Tiled Blooms quilt and saw your blocks in my search. What color thread did you use when you machine appliquéd your petals ? It looks like a natural color thread ?
