Today I am super excited to share a finish from a little while ago. I was asked by that folks at Moda, before Market, if I could whip up a sample of Miss Rosie's new pattern Wild Oats!!! I just loved the design from the moment I saw it. So simple and yet so awesome!!!
Wild Oats uses Barbara Brackman's newest line Old Cambridge Pike. This is a little more traditional fabrics then I usually quilt with, but I instantly fell in love with the rich deep tones and prints. It totally made me start thinking about adding more traditional prints into my quilts more often ;)
Don't you just love the awesome angles in this quilt!!! And it was so much fun to put together and was relatively fast as well :) Moda Rosie, aka Miss Rosie, aka Carrie Nelson adds lots of great tips in the pattern to help with putting it together with all of those nice perfect points ;)
When it came time to quilt this one I decided an all over feathered swirl fit the fabrics just perfect!!! It is hard to see as it blends so nicely, but it really added just another touch of elegance to these beautiful, rich fabrics!!!
And that is Wild Oats!!!! I really enjoyed working outside of my normal box on this one and love how I keep finding more avenues in the quilting world to explore!!! There is always something new to try and fall in love with ;)
So what have you tried new lately in your little quilting world???
I hope you have a very Happy Quilting Weekend!!!
Linking up this finish to Sarah's and Amanda's ;)
