ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween costume was actually a last minute one. We were "caught on Lover's Lane". My hair was all messed up and he had lipstick all over his face. It was cute...

ReplyDeleteI have to say that my favorite costume was a store-bought Snow White costume in the 1960's with the plastic mask. Those were the good old days, and I felt so beautiful in the cheap little plastic costume with mask. It was magical at the time.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was the Snow White dress I made for my niece.

ReplyDeleteI remember when the kids were little, my son wanted to be a mummy. I made a "under jumpsuit", ripped strips of muslin, and sewed the strips to the jumpsuit so it looked like he had been wrapped in the strips. Looked weird, but he was really young and thought he looked cool!

ReplyDeleteWhen my 2 oldest girls were 3 and 4 (now 33 and 34) I made them matching Crayola Crayon outfits for halloween using 60 inch felt. I made a long tube out of red felt, and one of blue, cut out black felt lettering which I sewed on, and for the crayon points I used colored poster board to make a cone hat for them. They were so cute---a little red crayon and a little blue crayon holding hands....WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?????
ReplyDeleteMy mom was ahead of the curve. I was a jack o'lantern in the 70's. The body was stuffed with crunched up newspaper (try getting enough of that now...) and I wore green tights and a green knit hat. If only she had sold that pattern then, we would have been rich, rich I tell you......

She and I were both little chunks and we put her in a box that was made to look like a dice...she's such a love and we had so much fun laughing about her pictures later, the two of us adorably rolly-polly and her arms sticking out of a box with big dots.
ReplyDeleteWhen our kids were little, we always did homemade costumes. One year we dressed up my son as an old lady, and put a gray wig on him. It was hilarious and no one knew who he was.
