  12. I think I've always liked Utah meadowlarks. They have such a distinctive wearable song. My grandpa used to take us grandkids hiking and every time we heard a meadowlark call, he'd copy it and sing, changing one of our names with it "Rachell is a pretty little girl!" It always made us feel special and closer to nature.

  23. My two favorite birds are hummingbirds and California quail--can't pick just one! I used to love to watch the magpies foraging for breakfast or dinner on my front lawn, but the avian flu a few years ago killed off 95% of them so I rarely see them now.

  27. I love a lot of birds, but the one that stops me in my tracks is the blue heron. So beautiful and graceful. I have one that frequents the water behind my apartment, so I can watch him all the time. :)

  32. What a wonderful store. I liked Charm School by Vanessa Goerteen that I found in the precuts. They are even giving a class on one of the quilts in her book, but no price or date. I will keep checking back!

  41. Chickens....ok---I know that's not what you meant...but I'm terribly afraid of birds with the exception of chickens....I especially love baby chicks and baby ducks and actually have some baby Rhode Island Reds ordered for my new chicken coop my husband is building.

  64. It isn't so much which bird is my favorite, but which one isn't. I really am not happy with the robin that is leaving me piles of "presents" all over my front porch and bench several times a day! Gross!

  75. melissa i just can't pick a favorite when it comes to birds...they are all so beautiful. if i had to pick one that always makes me laugh it would have to be the quail. these are the funniest guys...they NEVER walk anywhere they are constantly running in a line from place to place...and when they have little ones it is even funnier. on days when i need a chuckle i just need to wait for the quail to come for lunch :) janet jecagain@gmail.com

  78. I don't know that I have a favorite. I love to watch the birds out of my sewing room window. We have Robins and Blue Jays (Scrub Jays), Woodpeckers, Starlings, Quail and out front in the summer we have Hummingbirds! I have been seeing a lot of pictures on my Facebook feed of these little guys lately and their nests. So tiny! Anyway, thank you for hosting the giveaway. Utahoosier at yahoo dot com

  122. I think it is a toss up between hummingbirds and cardinals as to which bird I like best. In cold times the cardinals are my favorite eating the seeds I put out and when spring and summer are here, the hummingbirds around their feeders are such a joy to watch. I just love both.

  172. I love Humming Birds. Every few years I make a trip to Tuscon just to see all the species. Boy they are so lucky there. Next up are Grossbeaks and Woodpeckers.
