Winner and Update

It's time to pick the winner of the OLFA Endurance Rotary Blade and Splash Rotary Cutter from last week!!!

45mm Endurance Rotary Blade, Pack of 1 (RB45H-1)

And the lucky winner is . . .  #192 . . . Congrats jec!!!!  I have sent you an email ;)

And I thought I would add a quick update about my Carpal Tunnel Release surgery from last month.  Thank you so much for all of the kind words over the last month.  I just love the emails checking up on me and figured it was probably time for an update for everyone ;)  My right hand is healing well. The two incision marks are almost completely sealed and will soon fade.  I am grateful that each day I can do a little more with my hand.  Of course, the more I do the more sore it is by the end of the day, but that is all good.  I am told, on average, it takes a good 6 months to be back to 100% .  So I am just taking it day by day and being grateful when I can do something that I couldn't do the week before without my hand hurting.   So yup, moving onward and upward!!!

Which is a good thing because tomorrow will be my Left Hand's turn ;)  Good Times!!!

So I best get some serious rotary cutting today as that will be off the table again for a couple of  weeks, although I am hoping not quite as long, as I only have to hold the ruler with my left hand :)

Have a Happy Quilting Day!!

  1. OOF! Tomorrow! But with your sense of humor and upbeat personality, those 6 months will fly by. On the plus side, if you garden, you can just sit on the sidelines with a glass of iced tea (or stronger) and watch your kids and hubby do the weeding :)

  3. So glad your are mending well. My 80 year old mother had that surgery a couple of years ago. It did indeed take months to get back to normal. Just don't overdo. :)

  4. I need this surgery on both wrists really bad but I keep putting it off. I am so afraid that I won't be able to take care of myself let alone quilt or sew. Will be watching your updates to see how fast you recover. Good luck on your left wrist.

  5. Wow - that is some process to go through. So glad the first surgery went well and is healing like it should. Saying a prayer for you Melissa that the second surgery is a complete success! It must be really hard for you, who likes to stay so busy and creative.

  6. Wow! Not even enough of a gap for the old memory to fade a bit. In that case, an extra dose of good wishes for the procedure and all that surrounds it.

  11. I broke my shoulder in January and am patiently(?) going through the healing process. These things take so much time. I have started sewing again, but the cutting is still hard.
