We never decorated with ghosts, witches and bats, etc. We did get together with friends who were of like mind and we had a special party for the kids. They loved it until they got into high school and then wanted to do their own thing. They would get together and plan their own party at one of our houses. Turned out to be a lot of fun and great responsibility for them.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I get photos of my grandkids all dressed up and send them to all the family spread over the country - so cute to compare photos from years past!

    ReplyDelete
  156. I used to decorate our entire kitchen island: black fabric (w/various things underneath for dif display heights) topped with all kinds of creepy candies in jars and bowls, string lights all around and always a cauldron of bubbling dry ice. I began working on it the minute I got home from dropping the kids off for school on the morning of Halloween and would spend most of the day perfecting it! The kids couldn’t wait to get home to see what Mom fixed up every year. The room would be dark but for the pumpkin lights glowing, dry ice smoking and creepy music going. They are all too old now but it’s definitely become a favorite “Remember when Mom...” conversation.

I remember what fun Halloween was for me as a child! : )
