  4. My main sewing machine's name is Bonnie, but sometimes I call her another "b" word, when she isn't doing what I'd like. Of course that is usually because I need to give her a bit of a spa treatment. The others go by "Juki," "Little Brother," and "Grandma's."

  9. I have never named my sewing machine (I've been sewing for 4 years now). I JUST received a gift of a machine from a friend on Sunday .. and never thought of naming it either! But now I'll have to think on it. Whatever they end up, they'll be something geeky.

  12. My domestic sewing machine is lovingly referred to most days as Evelyn when she behaves and Evie when she is being ornery after an ornery great aunt I had named Evie! The quilter is named Hretha.

  13. My main (oldest) machine is a Kenmore, so of course its name is "Ken," which fits because it's just a plain, tan, all metal (read "heavy") workhorse that I've had for almost 40 years. But this summer I got a used Pfaff and she is so pretty (pink and white) that I had to name her "Barbie."

  15. I have named most of my machines... Sweet Baby Jayne, Charity, BlueWhite, Lucy and Ethel, and Domestic Goddess! Some machines don't have names, but I'm not sure why!?!

  23. My Pfaff doesn't have a name, but I did name my treadle Edith. That was my grandmother's middle name and she and Edith were born around the same time.

  28. I haven't named my two contemporary Viking Husqvarna or my serger, but I did name my vintage Singer 201 Doris, after Doris Day, who was popular the year my Singer was manufactured, 1950. My Vikings are usually referred to as the Machine Downstairs or the Machine Upstairs.

  42. Well my everyday machine is named baby girl. When things aren't going well it's like " oh! Don't do that baby girl!! The machine on my quilting frame needs a man's name. Its so moody!!!!

  79. Hah! I don't really name my sewing machines. My domestic machine I refer to as The Viking, and my Gammill is My Machine (exudes a feeling of power, don't you think?). Of course, when it doesn't perform like I want it to, it's referred to as That Blankety-blank Machine. Fortunately, that doesn't happen often, lol!

  101. The only sewing machine of mine that has a name is my longarm Millenium--she's the Dutch Princess. (my local coffee company is Dutch Bros & they give away these great decals. One time it was "Dutch Princess" so I Stuck it on my machine...:) reply to pjrquilter at msn dot com

  112. My kids and I call the machines their name brands. With the exception of Brother, all my machines are different brands. But the Brothers are the kids sewing machine and the serger, so it's the Brother and the serger. Maybe that's more than you wanted to know.

  115. Mine is called Diamond. I was able to buy this machine because one Christmas my husband gave me a nice sum of money as a gift, thinking it would buy me a sewing machine. He took me to the store only to find the one I wanted cost much more (which I made up the difference). When my daughter found out how much it was she said "mom, you could buy a diamond with what you spent on the machine!" I'm not quite sure she is correct, but that's how it got its name!

My beloved Eclipse which after 15 years had rusted out and was unsafe to drive and couldn't be repaired for less than maybe $5000 - it's name was Baby. My new car, which I don't like, it named Dumbass, because it does stuff like beeping and I don't know what it wants.
