  3. I've already made one scrappy Trip Around the World quilt, but I've seen a few since then where every other row is a white strip - it gives a softer look to the entire quilt. I'll be starting that one once I've finished a few WIPs.... if I can wait that long!

    Right now I have a scrap project UFO on my design wall. Preparing to move to AL from IL almost 5 years ago, I asked people in our church to sign rectangles of white fabric. I have 8 blocks made using 30's repro fabrics made. I probably have enough signed pieces for 3 quilts:) I had people sign in colored ink and did not embroider any of them. But after I got the 8 blocks made, other projects with deadlines got in the way. I have one more such project to make, and then I can get back to my UFO. I guess this will be a controlled scrappy quilt.

  99. I'd love to make a lovely string quilt like the green one in the Oh Scrap book.
    The only scrappy quilt I've actually made was a twin size rag quilt with homespun fabrics (mostly from shirts) on top and denim (from jeans)on the back. Most of the fabrics came from thrift stores and required de-construction before cutting my squares. Huge, heavy project but my brother-in-law loves the soft, fuzzy edges! I used pre-washed flannel in his favorite color for the batting.

  145. I spent quite a while perusing Olie and Evie's edge to edge quilting designs. They have a good selection of designs that are reasonably priced. I particularly like the new one featured on their home page that looks like Kite tails. My favorite design is Dashing Through the Snow under the Seasonal category. While it does look like snowflakes, the design also reads as a charm bracelet, perfect for a girl's quilt.

I've been cutting my scraps into assorted size squares recently so I'd have them ready to go. I'm actually building enough of a stash now, that I can actually start sorting by color.
